The Albany Area Chamber awards up to four $1,500 scholarships to qualifying high school seniors from South Albany, West Albany, Albany Options and Santiam Christian High Schools. Applicants must be the child of, or under the guardianship of, an Albany Area Chamber member. Applications

Angela Wilhelms has been president and CEO since September 2021. Before joining OBI, Angela held several roles focused on public policy, organizational governance, communications and strategic planning. Her work spans manufacturing, higher education, Capitol Hill and the Oregon Legislature. In the Oregon House of Representatives, she served as chief of staff in the House Minority Office and the House Co-Speakers’ Office helping advise lawmakers on a diverse portfolio of policy, budget and legislative management issues. Angela has a degree in finance from Santa Clara University and both a JD and MBA from Willamette University. She serves on the boards for Sport Oregon, the Oregon State Capitol Foundation and Common Sense Institute Oregon and is an emeritus member of the SMART Reading board. In her spare time, Angela loves to explore Oregon, and she is a certified official with USA Track & Field

Currently serving as an Operations Administrator, I focus on supporting organizational efficiency, process improvement, and workplace safety As a core member of the company’s allwomen’s network, I am dedicated to promoting inclusivity, professional development, and operational excellence across all levels of the organization.

You and your company’s community involvement: Throughout my career, I’ve taken pride in supporting my company’s strong commitment to community involvement in the Albany area Our team actively participates in local initiatives that promote education, safety, and economic development, as well as volunteer efforts that strengthen the connection between industry and community. Whether contributing to local events, supporting charitable drives, or encouraging employee participation in volunteer programs, we believe in giving back to the community that supports us. Personally, I value the opportunity to be involved in these efforts and to help foster a positive, lasting impact where we live and work.

Biggest Issue Facing Albany: One of the biggest issues facing Albany, Oregon, is the challenge of balancing growth with infrastructure and community needs. As the city continues to expand, increased housing demand, traffic congestion, and strain on public services highlight the need for thoughtful planning and sustainable development. Maintaining the character of the community while supporting economic opportunity and affordability will be essential to ensuring Albany remains a safe, vibrant place to live and work.
