• 76.7% of Children under 6 in Gunnison County have both parents participating in the labor force

• Approximately 246,000 children under age 6 (nearly 2/3 of Colorado kids) have both of their parents or guardians in the workforce

• Did you know that Gunnison is considered a childcare desert-which means Gunnison does not have enough license child-care providers?

• More than 640 million dollars is generated within the child care sector • The early care and education industry generates 1.4 billion for Colorado’s economy

• Much of what children learn, they learn when they are very young - 90% of a child’s brain develops by the age of 5
