CONSTRUCTION

The main structural element that will be used to hold the form is the PVC pipe. The pipes will be connected together with various types of PVC joints. due to the low load of the structure a lot of structural positioning and joints don’t have to be made. PVC poles will be placed around the site and will be connected with ropes so the fabric for the maze can be easily placed. the fabric will also be placed around the pavilions for privacy and protection from the weather.On top of the pavilions colored transparent plastics will be placed to give colored light.

MACRO TO MICRO OVERIEW POPULATION IN A MACRO VIEW Aura of dubai
Dubai is the second-largest emirate in the country with an area of 4,114 sq. km. Located in the southwest corner of the Arabian Gulf, it is hailed as a global business hub and the commercial capital of the UAE. This cosmopolitan metropolis has more expatriates than Emiratis. Though the local population is Muslim, there are Christian, Hindu and Sikh communities. In 1980, the population of Dubai was roughly 0.27 million. The number rose to 0.68 million in 1995, and 1.3 million in 2005. In 2015, the population crossed the two million mark to reach 2.38 million. In 2018, it again crossed 3 million. There are numerous factors for the high population growth rate in Dubai, the most important of them all is its cosmopolitan approach. This has triggered foreign nationals to come and settle in the region, making the expatriate population weigh more than the nationals. Over the years, the country has gone through several key demographic changes. The discovery of oil gave momentum to the economy of the country. Recently, the UAE government has also been promoting a tourism and knowledge-based economy to spur the economic momentum.

MICRO OVERVIEW Many visitors remark that the drive down Sheikh Zayed Road (Dubai’s main thoroughfare) is reminiscent of SimCity. Dubai is now taking the virtual analogy to the next level and is developing a city for the global citizen rather than the local population. Dubai is perhaps the most virtual city in the world, driven by high levels of capital inflow and visitors, rather than a large local population. The hub near Sheikh Zayed Road is primarily focused on people living outside the region to come over to work and make a living. The primary income of the Dubai is focused on tourists income, hence the region has alot of seasonal tourists site seeing various attraction.

MOVEMENT OF PEOPLE AT WEEKDAYS
STUDENTS
During the weekdays, there is a lot of movement of people as students go to school and residents go to work and people come into the area to work in the offices in the area. People go to cafes to grab their morning coffee or have breakfast to start their day. Tourist are coming in and out of the hotels to stay and explore different areas in Dubai. The metro station is packed full of people who are trying to commute to other parts of Dubai for their work and school. At the evenings people go back home and either spend their tiring day inside their homes or they go outside to a convenient cafe or restaurant. The roads are busy on the weekdays both morning and evening. At the night there is still a lot of activity.

During the weekends, the area is not so busy in the mornings. As there is no school and there aren’t much workers coming in. Most people at the weekends rest during the day. Tourists are still out and about exploring different areas around Dubai. People may go out to buy groceries, relax, eat food, explore Dubai, and many other things as the day goes on. The area has a lot of convenience in terms of services and especially transport that encourages people to visit the site or go to other places around Dubai. During the evening there is a lot of activity happening, most people are on the move to their destinations. The restaurants are full of people talking and working. There is a lot of people walking to and from the metro

Do you like spending your weekends exploring Dubai, its wonders and the various events coming up?
I hail from Afghanistan, living near Gold Souk in Deira here. I come to work everyday by metro.
Where do you live, and how do you commute to work on a daily basis?
I’m a chef, and i live closeby here. It is convenient for me to walk to work everyday. I enjoy visiting Marina and Dubai mall on my weekends.
I usually spend my weekends clubbing with friends, working out, but if there was something in close vicinity, I’d love to check it out.
Being a full-time working professional, and taking up an online degree can get tiring often, so, Iike to spend my weekends at home.
I think culture is an important aspect in life and it is very crucial that one sticks to his roots and finds ways to celebrate his traditions.
Do you go sightseeing often? What do your weekends look like?
What do you work as, and how do get to work everyday?
I live in Sonapur, Sharjah. I’m originally from Rajasthan. We have a bus that takes us from work, anddrops us back home everyday.
How do you feel about culture?
Where do you live, and how do you commute to work on a daily basis?
Personsally, if I were talking to someone, bringing up my cultural background would not be something i would prefer to discuss, as it coud possibly lead to setting up some boundaries between people. I think i’d rather experience things as a global citizen rather than being confined to my culture.

The abstraction in the model emphasizes the rapid growth and development of UAE as a country. The city of Dubai, currently known as an equivalent for luxury, splendour and comfort was not always seen in this light.
This prototype gives its viewer a glimpse into the story of growth and development of the region of rich cultural heritage.
The Sheikh Zayed Road and its vicinity served as a hub of opportunity bringing in a whole new workforce into the country, and housing these people and their future generations for years to come.
This area is well known for its diversity and various demographics that come here. Tourists, residents, professionals, and other people come from highly varied backgrounds, however, they come together and join forces to make dreams possible in this land of possibilities!
The model represents the populations and demographics around the site. Each colour shows different categories of the users. The purple represent the kids because around the site there is Gems Wellington Primary School and also there is a nursery and an academic centre, so the age group from 0-12 is active in this area. As well as the parents so the light blue representing the adults around 25-35.
Then we found some consulate in the same area therefore there is diplomates which is symbolised with the yellow colour.
In addition to the houses and the villas around the area that make us recognize that people who live there are well off and high class and this category the orange colour represent it.
Then going to the metro station we found different groups are using it. We can also see that there is a lot of hotels in both sides of Sheikh Zayed Road so the tourists are active in this area and the pink colour represent the tourists.
Some offices are also in the area so there is a percentage of office workers represented with the light green colour. And the dark green is for the residents because also there is residential buildings. There is different cafes as well so the visitors passing by this area and the dark blue represent the visitors.

PROJECT DEMOGRAPHI AND THEME
UNSDG GOAL The primary focus of this project revolves around the innovation strategy aims to position the UAE among the world’s top leaders of innovation and to develop a type of thinking that encourages experimentation and taking well-thought-out risks to achieve the goals of UAE Centennial 2071. The growing demographic of dubai shapes towards young minds tributing towards a lot of science background was the primary focus. These young minds revolving around a moving world has incredible mindsets and ideas. Focusing on niche of the demographic belonging to the physics background has a lot of potential on kinetics and in correlations to art from physics. This is mainly revolving around motion and time finding a common balance where the energy produces are solely mechanical and sustainable to showcase art and design. Moving sculptural pieces will not only cause excitement within the population spread around dubai but will also spark an inter disciplinary reaction on how to translate art and design from physics and motion, uniting two different worlds from science and art backgrounds
Translating this theme into architecture was almost exciting in way on how can the building become more dynamic and creating a program which is not only flexible but yet trying to cause a experience of stillness in motion.

MILWAUKEE ART MUESEUM: AWARDS Business Journal ‘2010 Project of the Decade Real Estate Award’ IABSE Outstanding Structure Award SEAOI ‘2002 Excellence in Design Award for Best Large Structure’ Time Magazine ‘Best of 2001’ for the Milwaukee Art Museum Business Journal ‘2010 Project of the Decade Real Estate Award’ The design adds 13,200 square meters to the existing 14,900 square meters, including a linear wing (made of glass and stainless steel, with lamella roof) that is set at a right angle to Saarinen’s structure. The design allows for future expansion, offset from but symmetrical to the exhibition facilities, on the other side of the Kahler building. At shore level, the expansion houses the atrium; 1,500 square meters of gallery space for temporary exhibitions; an education center with 300-seat lecture hall; and a gift shop. The 100-seat restaurant, which is placed at the focal point of the pavilion, commands panoramic views onto the lake.
P R E C E D E N C E .
The pavilion features a spectacular kinetic structure: a bris-soleil with louvers that open and close like the wings of a great bird. When open, the shape also becomes a sign, set against the backdrop of the lake, to herald the inauguration of new exhibitions. The pivot line for the bris-soleil’s slats is based on the axis of a linear mast, inclined at 47 degrees, as a parallel to the adjacent bridge mast.
THE SHED When deployed, the Shed’s shell creates a 17,200-square-foot light-, sound-, and temperature-controlled hall that can serve an infinite variety of uses. The hall can accommodate an audience of 1,200 seated or 2,700 standing; flexible overlap space in the two adjoining galleries of the base building allows for an expanded audience in the hall of up to 3,000. The shell’s entire ceiling operates as an occupiable theatrical deck with rigging and structural capacity throughout. Large operable doors on the Plaza level allow for engagement with the public areas to the east and north when open.

UNDERSTANDING THE SITE
The frontage of the site plays a major role as it is directly facing the SZR. Another key inference was that the SZR was actually acting as a barrier rather than oppurtunity frontage.
This is mainly because that of the fact that the vehicular entrance with SZR is not well connected the users might have to take a longer route in order to access the site. As per the parking zone, By laws have stated that the present vehicular enrty should be soly focused towards the Nort Western Direction and the parking has to be aligned well with the neighbouring parking building. There also exists an exsiting narrow pedestrian lane towards the North direction in between the buildings and their associated parking structures.

This is a performative model which sort illustrates a stillness when in motion. The swindle mechanism at the bottom helps to create a radial motion solely powered by mechanical motion.
The patterns can be differiented and the feeling described is when one overlooks a fireplace the stillness and calmness that one recieve was the main aim of the permformative model.
ABSRACT MODEL 1 :
This abstract model depicted above mainly illustrates various spikes in demographics located within the hub of Dubai. As illustrated some areas have the maximum spikes and some areas and relatively lower spikes which suggests that the demographic revolved around is not quite a lot but the science reloving around these demongraphic personified by young minds are so strong and powerful.

PERFORMATIVE MODELLING: The one above depicts the understanding of the intial generation of the idea of closing and opening of the roof and creating a better insight on the mechanism that can be used by tension wires applying basic phyics to flap the roof in order to allow sunlight into the structure. The technology is not only innovative towards the depiction of the kinetics but yet sustainable as well.
HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS: This performative model on the right helps us understand the real life implication of the hydraulic powered seating and landscaping features that can be used in order and outdoor areas to create multi functional areas.
