REHABILITATION HOSPITAL OF BEROUN The Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital is one of the best equipped and most comfortable workplaces of its type in the Czech Republic. AKESO POLYCLINIC AKESO POLYCLINIC offers a wide range of diagnostic and outpatient care for children, adolescents and adults in Prague’s Nové Butovice. The polyclinic is equipped with state-of-the-art medical and laboratory technology. We have MRI, X-ray and ultrasound. These are state-of-the-art devices that allow doctors to quickly and accurately make a diagnosis without unpleasant patient burden and unnecessary time delays. MULTISCAN The Multiscan Oncology and Radiology Centre is part of the Comprehensive Oncology Centre of the Pardubice Region (COC PR). The COC PR consists of the company Multiscan, which operates clinical oncology and radiotherapy outpatient clinics, and Pardubice Hospital, which is responsible for the inpatient part. It provides comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, preventive and educational activities in the field of oncology. Multiscan also operates clinical oncology clinics in Chrudim, Svitavy and Ústí nad Orlicí. Since January 2019, the Oncology Department of the Hořovice Hospital has been operating as another detached workplace. In addition to the clinical and radiation oncology outpatient clinics, the centre also has a radiodiagnostics department located at the Vektor Polyclinic in Pardubice. SENIMED

SENIMED brings together the pharmacies of the hospitals in Hořovice and Beroun. It also includes the pharmacies „U Černého orla“ and „U Červeného potoka“ in Hořovice, the pharmacy in Žebrák and in Hostomice pod Brdy. The pharmacy of Hořovice Hospital supplies medicines to other medical facilities of AKESO Holding. Its warehouse contains more than 3,000 medicinal products and food supplements and has a wide range of orthopaedic and rehabilitation aids intended not only for medical facilities but also for end users. In addition, skilled clinical pharmacists are able to tailor medicines to individual clients and departments exactly as prescribed. Active cooperation with the treating physicians in the treatment of the patient is a matter of course. Last but not least, SENIMED also ensures the conduct of clinical trials. The company’s pharmacy operations meet the demanding administrative, storage and operational requirements for modern pharmacies. In 2022, the pharmaceutical division of SENIMED Pharma joined the AKESO holding group, building on the long-standing experience of APOTEX and Aurovitas. SENIMED Pharma focuses on the sale of premium health supplements. It focuses mainly on Czech products, such as pure crystalline collagen from the Colafit range and immunity supplements from the Betaglucan range. The wide range of products is complemented by the overthe-counter drugs Hedelix and Bromhexine. The portfolio then includes Ibuprofen Aneos, which replaced the well-known Apo-Ibuprofen for many years, then Curenzym Anixi, Cranberry Anixi, oral probiotic BAC-ENTOS or CBD products. The company was founded in Prague in 2004 and AKESO Holding is its 100% owner since the second half of 2024. We provide a broad portfolio of cutting-edge products and services in the fields of orthopedics, spinal surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, gynecology and urology, surgery, electrosurgery, diabetes, optics, and dental hygiene. We provide complete equipment for operating theatres. We also provide our services to start-up companies in their market launches and use the holding’s medical facilities for product testing and training of future users when introducing new products. We have sophisticated logistics that enable us to supply hospitals just-in-time. At the same time, we provide hospitals with consignment warehouses. MULTISCAN PHARMA The pharmacy specialised in medicines for oncology patients was established in 2008 as an offshoot of the Multiscan Oncology Centre in Pardubice. Currently, it supplies special drugs for oncology patients to all AKESO holding facilities that treat oncology patients, to all workplaces of the Comprehensive Oncology Centre of the Pardubice Region (COC PR) and also to the inpatient department of clinical and radiation oncology of the Pardubice Hospital. The specific layout and equipment of the two aseptic areas of the pharmacy complying with the current legal standards enables the preparation and dispensing of sterile medicinal products. Both cytostatics and targeted (biological) drugs are prepared here directly for patients according to the individual requirements of the attending physician at the time of their need. Thanks to pipeline mail, the pharmacy is able to deliver the medicine to the patient within the Pardubice Hospital within half an hour of the prescription by the doctor.

CONSTRUCTION TEAM The foundations of the company were laid in 2008 during the privatisation of the Hořovice Hospital and Beroun Hospital. Both facilities were in need of thorough renovation to meet the highest standards of 21st century healthcare. In 2017, CONSTRUCTION TEAM began to operate as a development, engineering and construction company that implements construction projects exclusively for AKESO holding. An in-house contractor reduces the cost of construction by up to 30% compared to hired external companies and can respond more flexibly to the client’s requirements. In addition to the above-mentioned reconstructions and modernizations, CONSTRUCTION TEAM has completed over a dozen projects ranging from hospital reconstruction to the construction of apartments for employees to billion-dollar projects for the construction of the Mental Rehabilitation Centre in Beroun or the Hospital of the New Generation in Hořovice.

DATA CENTRE

Healthcare holding AKESO continues to invest in the future of patients and data cybersecurity. Therefore, a brand new data centre has been built on the premises of the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital, which consolidates the IT needs of the entire holding into a centralised private cloud. This state-of-the-art facility with the latest technology allows us to provide the best service to patients while meeting the most stringent requirements for protecting sensitive data. The data centre is a three-storey reinforced concrete monolith with durable structural elements designed to withstand extreme events such as earthquakes, floods, fire, plane crashes or external human intervention. It houses not only the necessary technologies and the data chambers themselves, but also offices and premises as a background for the control and monitoring workplace of the centre’s operation.

We have all the evidence-based safety protocols in place – perioperative safety, falls and decubitus prevention, hospital acquired infection prevention, and all the other important prevention packages (surgical site infection prevention, prevention of surgical site infections, prevention of associated using pulmonary ventilators and invasive inputs). Telemetry (display of vital signs for each patient) is in place for all beds in our hospitals. Patient satisfaction is our top priority. We are continuously working to improve our services – we reduce waiting times for examinations, book patients on time and plan a series of examinations and interventions within one day. We take care of quality food. We cook healthy and tasty food for our patients, even at the cost of increased costs per food unit. We have engaged top gastronomic experts to create menus and diet plans. We have modern educated nutritional therapists.

Our doctors regularly participate in professional conferences at national and international level. Our workplaces are accredited for their field of education. We are also involved in the education of medical and non-medical students, such as nurses and IT workers. We cooperate with Charles University, with the Czech Technical University in Prague or with medical schools in the regions where we operate. As part of our collaboration on significant scientific projects, AKESO Holding established a Scientific Board, chaired by Prof. MUDr. Karel Pacák, DrSc., a renowned expert in endocrinology. His research team has introduced new biochemical and imaging methods that represent a breakthrough in the diagnosis and localization of rare neuroendocrine tumors, particularly pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma. He has become a world-renowned expert in this disease in both children and adults. In this research area, he is also the world’s most cited author. To date, he has published over 400 papers in scientific journals and over a hundred chapters in medical monographs. The modern facilities of the maternity hospital offer expectant mothers four luxurious, completely separate delivery rooms equipped with the latest technology. All delivery rooms have a positioning bed and a bed for newborn treatment, a private bathroom with toilet, TV, Wi-Fi connection and facilities for the father. The births are conducted in an intimate atmosphere with the possibility of using, for example, a birthing tub, rehabilitation balloons, birthing stools, Combitrac suspension system, birthing couch, aromatherapy or scarfing. The maternity ward includes an operating theatre for caesarean section. If it is necessary to deliver by caesarean section, the parents are allowed to be accompanied by the father of the child.

Of course, the presence of the father or another close person is a matter of course for us not only at the birth, but also in the antenatal ward. If the mother wishes to have not only the father of the child, but also the older sibling with her from the time she leaves the delivery room until she is discharged home, the new superior family rooms will make this possible. The maternity hospital has the status of a Perinatology Intermediate Care Centre with the possibility to provide care to newborns from the 30th week of pregnancy. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is fully open to parents who are involved early in the care of even the smallest or sickest babies. A significant advantage of our maternity hospital is that mothers-to-be do not have to register for the birth in advance.

BUILDINGS THAT HAVE PUSHED THE BOUNDARIES MENTAL REHABILITATION CENTRE AKESO Healthcare Holding opened its flagship mental health care facility in June 2023 on the premises of the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital.
