Audio Described – Live verbal commentary is given through headsets to patrons who are visually impaired. The description doesn’t change the performance for any guests, but fills in the gaps for those who require it.

BSL Interpreted – Trained British Sign Language signers stand to one side of the stage and interpret the script used by the performers at the same time as the actions are being performed.

Captioned – Similar to television subtitles, captions give patrons who are D/deaf, deafened or hard of hearing access to live performances. The actors’ words appear on display units at the side of the stage.

Relaxed – Offer a range of adaptions to both the theatre environment and the production itself. These may include reduced sound levels, removal of certain special effects and allowing free movement in and out of the auditorium.

Touch Tour – Touch tour events offer immersive, sensory experiences tailored for blind and visually impaired audiences. These tours provide tactile exploration of stage sets, costumes and props before a performance, enhancing accessibility and connection to the show.

Matthew Bourne’s award-winning The Car Man is back! Loosely based on Bizet’s ever-popular opera, The Car Man has one of the most thrilling and instantly recognisable scores in New Adventures’ repertoire.

The familiar 19th century Spanish cigarette factory becomes a greasy 1950’s garage-diner in the American Midwest, where the dreams and passions of a small town are shattered by the arrival of a handsome and enigmatic stranger. Fuelled by heat and desire, the inhabitants are driven into an unstoppable spiral of greed, lust, betrayal and revenge.

Matthew Bourne’s vivid storytelling combines with one of the most passionately dramatic scores ever written, with music by Terry Davies featuring Rodion Shchedrin’s Carmen Suite (after Bizet’s Carmen), to create a dance thriller like no other. Tony Roper’s The Steamie

Set in a Glasgow washhouse on Hogmanay in the late 1950s, The Steamie is a modern Scottish classic, a warm, funny and deeply human play that celebrates friendship, working-class resilience and the rituals of a bygone era.

Written by Tony Roper, with songs by Dave Anderson, the play has become a beloved staple of Scottish theatre, adored by audiences for its humour, heart and sharp observational detail.

Step inside a 1950s Glasgow washhouse on Hogmanay, where the water’s hot and the gossip’s even hotter, for a joyful celebration of friendship and the heart of workingclass life. Magrit, Dolly, Doreen, and Mrs. Culfeathers share laughter, secrets and dreams, while tackling the final wash of the year in Tony Roper’s The Steamie.
