Message for the regional director

I hope you are ready for the bright lights and 24/7 excitement of the “Entertainment Capital of the World.” We are headed to Las Vegas, Nevada! The place where mountains meet the desert, and fountains learn to dance. For us, it will also be where sorors from around the world join together for the 35th International Regional Conference, July 16-17, 2026, under the theme: “ILLUMINATION - Sisterhood on a Global Stage.”

Sorors, the stage is set! This will be a very special regional conference. It will be where we shine a light on the progress we have made, the growth we have accomplished, and the future that lies ahead. It will also be where we spotlight our many accomplishments as sorors, chapters, and a region The future of the International Region is radiant, and we will illuminate the path forward so that our region continues to shine and elevate, no matter where we are around the globe.

This will be a conference where we will hit our mark!

This year we are involving chapters from around the world in the planning of this spectacular gathering

Our International Regional Conference Steering Committee is collaborative and representative of who we are as a region. Soror Lasean Hardy is serving as our Conference Chairman She is joined by committee chairmen who are hard at work to make sure you have an experience that is fun, vibrant and very Vegas!

Everything you need to know is in this conference registration guide. Our time together will be filled with celebrations, premier workshops and plenaries to ensure we are handling the business of Alpha Kappa Alpha and the International Region.

With heartfelt gratitude and great joy, it is truly an honor to serve as your Chairman of the 35th International Regional Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. I look forward to seeing this extraordinary gathering of leaders and sisters from across our vibrant and diverse region in July under our themeILLUMINATION: Sisterhood on a Global Stage.

I am grateful to serve under the phenomenal leadership of our International Regional Director, Soror Carrie J. Clark, whose vision and unwavering commitment to excellence have guided this journey. Together, with a Steering Committee that reflects the strength of our region, we have worked intentionally to create an experience that celebrates who we are, honors our legacy, and inspires our future

This conference holds special significance as we celebrate Soror Clark’s final regional conference as our Regional Director. In true International Region fashion, we are going out with a bang Las Vegas style bold, bright, and unforgettable.

As we gather to conduct the important business of our sisterhood through engaging plenary sessions, we will also celebrate the rich cultural tapestry of our global region. You will experience thoughtfully designed events that reflect the traditions and spirit of the many countries that make our sisterhood so beautifully unique

From enhanced Sisterly Relations experiences to dynamic programming and a Closing Gala like no other, every moment has been designed to inspire connection, celebration, and pride in our shared sisterhood.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS

Our host hotel will be announced soon by the Corporate Office The 35th International Regional Conference will convene July 16-17, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada

Sorors will reserve hotel rooms via the corporate portal provided for reservations. Room stays will be available beginning Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The Welcome Reception will be held on Wednesday evening. Regional Conference Plenary Sessions are scheduled on July 16 - 17, 2026. There is a limited amount of rooms available. Please plan accordingly.

Please note that once reservations are made through the system, the region is obligated to pay for the room held for you. Sorors will be charged for reservations held.

The agenda is the blueprint for ensuring the chapter meeting remains on track A properly prepared agenda, along with a basic knowledge of parliamentary procedure, allows a meeting to run effectively and efficiently. The workshop objective is to discuss the correct way to prepare an agenda, the importance of approving the agenda, and parliamentary steps that can be used to ensure the meeting remains focused All sorors will benefit from the information that will be shared during this workshop If time permits, a parliamentary procedure Q and A will be held

WK5 | Greek Shenanigans 5: If It Ain’t One Thing, It’s Another

This risk management workshop tackles the everyday challenges of sorority life We will break down common issues, share practical solutions, and give you real tools to keep our sisterhood safe, prepared, steady, and ready to soar no matter what pops up next.

This workshop will be presented by the International Risk Management Committee.

Encore: Chapter Operations That Help Us SOAR!

This interactive workshop is designed to equip sorors with practical strategies that strengthen chapter operations and enhance overall organizational effectiveness. Participants will explore the essential roles and responsibilities of chapter officers to gain clarity on leadership expectations and collaborative practices that support smooth governance The session will also introduce best practices for planning and conducting effective meetings that foster engagement, transparency, and productive decision-making Through guided instruction and applied learning exercises, sorors will refine their skills in maintaining accurate minutes and establishing reliable record-keeping systems that preserve chapter history and ensure compliance. In addition, the workshop will highlight methods for strengthening financial reporting processes and promoting greater accountability within chapter operations Attendees will leave the session with actionable tools and increased confidence to support efficient, compliant, and high-functioning chapters This workshop will be presented by the International Standards Committee.

"Sisterhood Unlocked" refers to the idea of fully embracing and experiencing the depth and potential of sisterhood It means breaking down barriers and opening up to the true power of supportive, unbreakable bonds among women When sisterhood is unlocked, it’s like opening a treasure chest filled with endless support, love, trust, and empowerment. This concept emphasizes the freedom and strength that comes from nurturing these relationships, allowing each sister to thrive individually while also contributing to the collective growth and resilience of the group It signifies a state where the true essence of sisterhood is realized and celebrated, leading to a community where every member feels valued and uplifted

An Alpha Kappa Alpha Branding & Communications Masterclass

Over the past four years, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® has experienced an extraordinary surge in visibility from national spotlight moments to chapter-level digital excellence Year Four calls for more than being seen; it calls for strategy, purpose, and influence.

The Power Shift: Turning Visibility Into Influence is a dynamic 90-minute workshop designed to help sorors master the art of transforming attention into meaningful impact. Through real examples, live demonstrations, and practical tools, participants will learn how to:

The registration fee includes the Closing Gala and a conference gift. However, you MUST confirm that you wish to attend the Closing Gala and receive the conference gift.

Additions to activities or events to your 35th IRC registration must be made before Sunday, April 26, 2026 by 11:59 PM ET.

Registration will only be available online by accessing the International Region website, in the EVENTS SECTION.

Sorors from other regions who wish to attend the conference should go to the corporate website at aka1908.com and use the Member Assistance Form to request that their profile is synced with the International Region Note that you will be unable to log in and register for events until this process is completed This will take roughly 3-5 business days to process at which time you can attempt to log into the regional website again.

All registrations must be completed ONLINE on or before April 12, 2026, 11:59 PM ET to avoid a late fee

Registration after April 12, 2026, 11:59 PM ET will incur a $55 late fee.

Late registration will be accepted from April 13 - 26, 2026

The International Regional Director must approve all requests for refunds A minimum processing fee of $50 for graduate sorors, $25 for undergraduate sorors, and any other associated ticketed event expenses will be assessed and deducted from the refund amount. Special activities and events are uniquely priced. Only registered financial sorors and registered guest(s) may participate in conference activities

Non-financial or active sorors may NOT be guests of registered financial sorors at the conference

Registration may be paid with Visa, MasterCard, American Express credit cards, or debit cards with the MasterCard or Visa logo.

GROUP REGISTRATION

Group/Chapter Registration will be available online. Payments can be made via major credit card, debit card (with MasterCard or Visa logo), Chapter Check, Cashier's Check, Wire Transfer or Money Order. Group registrations are PENDING until payment is made and applied to the group registration record.

Only the authorized chapter officer who remitted the Group Registration will receive the registration confirmation for the group.

SUBSTITUTE REGISTRATION

All substitutions must be approved by the International Regional Tamiouchos and completed by April 26, 2026. The substitution can only be with a soror that is financial at the time the request is made. There will be no on-site substitutions

A soror may request to substitute her registration for another soror. To initiate a substitution request, the originally registered soror must submit the Substitute/Refund Request Form online for review and processing:

The substitute registration selections (events, workshops, and meal functions) cannot be changed. Additional events may be added to the original registration via the registration portal

All transfers of funds must be handled between the sorors involved.

Conference attendance certificates will be emailed to sorors who attend the conference.

A registered soror unable to attend the conference may complete an Authorization to Pick Up Form in order for the Chapter Basileus, a delegated soror, or a Graduate Advisor (Undergraduate Chapters Only) to pick up her registration materials and conference gift during open Soror Services hours only

Giving permission to release registration materials and conference gift must be submitted by July 15, 2026

The soror picking up the registration materials and conference gift will be required to present her financial card, a valid form of identification, and must sign the Authorization to Pick Up Form

Certificates of attendance will not be distributed to sorors who do not attend the conference.

Registration materials and conference gifts will not be mailed.

Sorors will reserve hotel rooms via the corporate portal provided for reservations. Room stays will be available beginning Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The Welcome Reception will be held on Wednesday evening. Regional Conference Plenary Sessions are scheduled on July 16 - 17, 2026. There is a limited amount of rooms available Please plan accordingly

Please note that once reservations are made through the system, the region is obligated to pay for the room held for you. Sorors will be charged for reservations held.
