“NK Taxi 2019” is a visual report of an artproject that took place in taxis of Cologne (June 2019). Noordkaap invited four artists to develop site-specific works, critically reflecting on the car industry and its radical transformation within our digital area: from VR rides, psychometrics rides, post-industrial AR storytelling, to a taxi noodle bar.
Representing the non-conformist identity of Noordkaap, the fragmented structure of the book contains a high degree of disruption.
We followed the traditional map binding method and multiplied it to tame the paper volume. The form is based on an analogue city map. The reader can browse simultaneously, crossing a range of associations that turn the publication into a fluid archive and a distinctive reading (driving) experience.
