Dear Sorors,
As we approach the halfway mark of this sorority year, I pause to reflect on the first six months of this administration with a heart full of gratitude. Together, we have implemented a wide range of programs and activities designed to inform, uplift, and unite us. Through your energy, engagement, and enthusiasm, we have created memorable moments that embody the very best of our sisterhood.

SororLynetteK.Brooks AlphaGammaOmegaChapter Basileus
A special and sincere thank you to our phenomenal committee chairmen and co-chairmen. Your leadership has shaped our chapter’s success and inspired innovative programming that has allowed Sorors to thrive both personally and collectively. I truly appreciate your unwavering commitment to excellence.
Please note that “Breakfast with the Basileus,” originally scheduled for Saturday, June 7 at 10:00 AM, has been canceled due to the Ivy Beyond the Wall ceremony for our beloved Soror Royeta Rodgers. In light of this, our June Chapter Meeting will now be held at:
Angeles Mesa Presbyterian Church
3751 W. 54th Street
Los Angeles, CA 90043

Thank you in advance for your understanding and flexibility.
I’m also excited to share that our 2025 scholarship recipients will be honored at the start of the June Chapter Meeting. These exceptional young scholars represent the future, and it is our privilege to celebrate their academic achievements. Please plan to arrive on time to witness this inspiring moment and show our collective support.
In place of the breakfast, I will host “Fridays with the Basileus” throughout the month of June as part of our initiative: Wear Pink, Spend Green, Buy Black. Each Friday, we will highlight and support a local Black-owned business. This initiative not only builds economic wealth, but also strengthens our presence and impact in the community.
As we observe Juneteenth, may we reflect on our shared history, honor the enduring legacy of freedom and justice, and recommit to uplifting one another and our communities. Let us move forward with pride, purpose, and joy.
The summer months are brimming with events that celebrate our sisterhood and offer opportunities to engage in fun, meaningful experiences. I encourage you to mark your calendars and refer to the chapter calendar for specific dates and details. These events are designed to help us reconnect, relax, and deepen the bonds that make Alpha Gamma Omega so special.

As I reflect on this journey, I want to express heartfelt gratitude to the former Basiliei whose leadership, wisdom, and guidance have paved the way. Your dedication and example have been invaluable as I continue to serve and lead our beloved chapter.
Thank you, Sorors, for your continued support, sisterly love, and belief in our shared mission. It is an honor to serve as your Basileus, and I look forward to all that we will accomplish together.
Wishing you a joyful, safe, and sisterly summer!
With gratitude and love,
Soror Lynette K. Brooks

The Soror 2 Soror Committee has been established to embody the spirit of sisterhood by fostering a compassionate network of support. It ensures that no Soror feels isolated during times of challenge—such as illness, limited mobility, or pregnancy—by serving as a vital bridge between the Chapter and those unable to attend sorority meetings or inperson events. The committee is requesting referrals (including selfreferral) of Sorors who are currently active members of AGO and who meet one of the following criteria:

“Joy is Our Strength” “Joy is Our Strength” “Joy is Our Strength”
Nehemiah 8:10 “…for the JOY of the Lord is your strength.”
The saying “the joy of the Lord is your strength means that finding joy in God’s presence and character provides a source of strength to persevere through challenges.
This joy is deeper that fleeting happiness, stemming from a deep trust in God’s faithfulness and provision. It empowers individuals to face adversity with resilience, hope, and a sense of peace, knowing that God is working in their lives when it seems otherwise.

"Two are better than one , "Two are better than one , because they have a good return for their because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down , labor: If either of them falls down , one can help the other up. " one can help the other up. "
