Dearest Soror,
As the season of renewal and growth unfolds, we continue to move forward in service, scholarship, and sisterhood. We welcome the beauty of April and celebrate Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 reaffirming our dedication to Enhance our Environment. Just as we nurture our sisterhood with love and support, let us also care for the world around us, ensuring a healthier planet for generations to come.

We are excited to announce 10 young women were welcomed into Tau Kappa Chapter on March 23, 2025 in Marina del Rey. They will be joining us along with Iota Beta at our joint meeting on April 5, 2025. This is a wonderful opportunity to uplift, mentor, and strengthen our bonds with the next generation of Alpha Kappa Alpha women. Let’s be intentional about showing them the warmth and wisdom of our sisterhood, ensuring they feel supported as they continue their journey in service and leadership.
As we embrace the spirit of spring, let’s also embrace the spirit of Sisterly Love through Random Acts of Sisterliness! Whether it’s a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or simply reaching out to check on a soror, let’s continue creating a culture of care and support within our chapter. Sisterhood is not just what we say it’s what we do. Let’s be the reason another soror feels valued, encouraged, and uplifted.

We also take a moment to extend our heartfelt condolences to Soror Tajarah Nicholson, Soror Zahari Freeman, Soror Zahari Peoples, Soror Kirra Epps, Soror Mary Walker, Soror Antoinette Morehead, Soror Alicia Morehead-Gee, and Soror LaVette Quinn who have lost loved ones this year. During this time of sorrow, let us surround them with love, prayers, and support. Please keep them and their families in your thoughts.
Lastly, be on the lookout for the opening of Leadership Seminar registration in April. This is a valuable opportunity for growth, networking, and leadership development, and I encourage AGO to take advantage of this enriching experience.
Sorors, thank you for your continued dedication and love. With just two months remaining before our summer break, let’s keep our pearls polished and our ivy strong by supporting one another in true sisterhood.

“A Season of Forgiveness”
Matthew 18:35 states:
“This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother and sister from your heart!”
The Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke teach believers all about sacrifice & forgiveness. It is where we learned about the Savior of World, Jesus Christ. The unselfish Man of God, who sacrificed himself to forgive all our iniquities & transgressions, to give us a chance, a right to a better life and a life eternal.
March & April are always celebrated as another season of new beginnings and fresh experiences. But for those sorors who are believers and/or Christians, it is a time of forgiveness, sacrifice.
Forgiveness could be good or intimidating because it is a matter of the heart and for the heart. It can be achieved without interaction or reconciliation with one ’ s offenders and for those who are unsafe for communication. When faced with unforgiveness, try this: recognize pain/hurt, recognize the heart, surrender it to God.

Recent wildfires in California displaced families and devastated communities. Many children and teens lost their homes, books, and sense of normalcy. Through reading, they can find comfort, hope, and healing in the midst of loss.
Let’s unite to provide new books to youth affected by the fires. Together, we can spread hope one story at a time.
In Partnership with local Black-owned storefront Octavia’s Bookstore Please consider making a donation to support making more books available for our youth!
