AIT’S ‘NET ZERO CAMPUS INITIATIVE’ WINS INTERNATIONAL GREEN GOWN AWARDS
Description: On October 10, 2024, AIT’s “Net Zero Campus Initiative” received the International Green Gown Award in the ‘2030 Climate Action’ category. This initiative, led by former AIT President Kazuo Yamamoto, aims to transform the campus into a Botanical Garden Net Zero campus by 2030, focusing on significant greenhouse gas emission reductions and promoting the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy. AIT was recognized among 95 finalists from 61 institutions across 28 countries. The award highlights AIT’s commitment to sustainability through renewable energy, biodiversity conservation, and community engagement, reinforcing its role in the global ‘Race to Zero’ campaign.
