Asian Institute of Technology Office of Student Affairs Admissions Diversity Report 2024 1.​ Executive Summary The AIT Office of Student Affairs (OSA) measures and tracks applications and admissions from underrepresented groups. This present percentage changes (increase/decrease) and notable trends in representation in the past two years, as well as present an overview of actions taken to improve access. 2.​ Policy Context The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) upholds its commitment to a harmonious, respectful, and inclusive community through its Policy and Procedure on Ethical Behavior and Grievance Process (PA-2-1-2, created on 25 November 1998, last revised on 19 January 2023) and Student Handbook on Harassment, Abuse, and Discrimination (created since 1967, last revised in August 2025). AIT strictly prohibits all forms of harassment, abuse, and discrimination. The policy explicitly states that “No member of the AIT community, trustee, faculty, staff, or student, including outreach program participants, should act deliberately or thoughtlessly to interfere with the study, work or home environment of other members of the community.” (Student Handbook, Chapter VI on Harassment Policy, A.3. page 38; PA-2-1-2 II.A.2., page 2). The Institute’s non-discrimination provisions specify that “… There should be no denial or granting of rights or privileges wholly or partly, on irrelevant grounds such as race, nationality, gender, creed, age, marital status, handicap, or physical characteristics.” (Student Handbook, Chapter VI on Harassment Policy, A.5. page 39; PA-2-1-2 III.A.3., page 3). Additionally, AIT provides: ●​ Campus Disability Support Services: Committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment, providing reasonable accommodations, support services, and promoting inclusive learning. ●​ Disability Access Scheme: Inclusive support including mentorship and personal counseling through the Office of Student Affairs ●​ Office of Human Resources Services (OHRS): Serves as the diversity function, implementing Equal Opportunity Policy and Diversity and Inclusion Policy Alignment with national law and international commitments AIT adheres to relevant national (Thailand) laws and regulations concerning accessibility and disability rights.
