ABOUT AISC The American International School Chennai (AISC) was established in 1995 as a nonprofit, independent, co-ed day school located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. In the 2024–2025 school year, AISC has 754 students in Early Years to Grade 12, representing 26 nationalities. AISC has a twosemester calendar year (Aug. 2–Dec. 15; Jan. 8–Jun. 5). AISC offers an American High School Diploma and is accredited by the Middle States Association.

ABOUT THE HIGH SCHOOL There are 226 students who represent 21 nationalities. The high school has 39 faculty, of whom 90% hold advanced degrees. ACADEMICS AT AISC AISC offers an American High School Diploma 25 AP/IB courses offered IBDP: 28% are pursuing the full IB Diploma AP: 38% of G10–12 students take 2 or more AP courses Personalized Learning (38% of G11-12 students) pathways include Passion Projects, AISC Capstone, and accredited online courses

GRADE REPORTING We follow standards-based assessment and reporting (SBAR). Students receive feedback using a 1-8 Achievement Scale based on most recent & consistent evidence of their learning. Feedback is given across three achievement strands: Knowledge/Understanding; Thinking/ Transfer; and Communication. Semester overall scores are derived from a combination of these strands. 8/7 = Exemplary 6/5 = Proficient
