The Fifty-Sixth Annual Session is soon at hand. Details of registration, meeting and workshop schedule, and proposed amendments can be found in this Communicator and on the website. Members are warmly encouraged to attend the pre-session board meeting on July 21, as well as the post-session board meeting on July 26, 2015. Dollie McPartlin, the Annual Session coordinator, has planned great things for your comfort and interest.
published both updates and new publications, and made our materials available more affordably and easily.
This year’s business sessions will include greetings from other parliamentary organizations, voting on significant amendments to bylaws and standing orders, reports of officers and chairmen, and elections of officers and directors. An outstanding group of instructors will lead workshops on worthy topics.
Thank you for allowing me to serve as AIP president for three years. I look forward to joining the past presidents and to the continued progress of this outstanding parliamentary organization.
This is my last column as President of the American Institute of Parliamentarians. It has been an honor of the highest magnitude to serve as the chief officer of this premier organization. I will always remember with pride my election in 2012 in Fort Worth as I will the last time I lower the gavel at the Fifty-Sixth Annual Session in Las Vegas. The presidency of this great organization is an arduous trust and I have worked on AIP’s behalf with the best of intentions, to the best of my abilities. The hard work and kind words shown by some fellow laborers, whether officers, directors, committee chairs, or members, is profoundly appreciated. With hard work by many people and a willingness to break free of practices that slowed AIP, we have made many improvements. AIP has amended its bylaws, streamlined our website, conducted annual audits, changed management companies, involved many, many members new and old in our activities,

The officers to be elected in 2015 will steer the ship with a steady hand. I for one will continue in my support for the leaders and the organization, as well as for all who are willing to work on AIP’s behalf.
