Background Check

What is a background check?

It is a standard part of the onboarding process and reflects our due diligence as an employer It helps protect the company’s reputation and assets while ensuring compliance with Agoda’s legal and regulatory obligations. As an employee, please ensure all information you provide is accurate and respond promptly to any vendor requests.

What will I receive?

You will receive an introductory email from our professional background check vendor - HireRight, AuthBridge (iBRIDGE), or First Advantage/Sterling. Please complete the form and submit the required information within 3 days of receiving the invitation to avoid delays

What documents should I prepare?

Employment

Acceptable documents must clearly show your full name, company name, and employment start and end dates, examples include:

Signed employment contract

Work certificate or employment/experience letter

Payslips (issued within ±3 months of the actual start or end date)

Tax documents

You may redact any personal or sensitive information that is not relevant to this verification

Education

Acceptable documents include:

Degree certificate

Academic transcript

High school diploma

Graduation or completion confirmation letter

Identity verification

Government-issued ID (e g national ID, passport)

How long does it take for the background check to be completed?

In general, the background check process takes approximately 2–4 weeks, depending on document completeness and verification availability.
