Auto-Boundary for Satellite Views Enables Predictive Yield in no-boundary scenarios Procedure 1. 2.
3. 4.
5.
Release Scheduled for Late June 2026
Begin harvest with an active Ultimate Combine license. After several minutes of harvesting, the system automatically creates a temporarily circular boundary larger than the field to initiate Satellite Views generation. Once Satellite Views are collected, they are automatically sent back to the combine. A Predictive Yield Map is generated shortly after the new Satellite View files are received. Approximately 45 minutes from combine beginning harvest. All predictive inputs are now available to deliver optimal Predictive Ground Speed Automation performance.
Notes This faster process leverages a lesser resolution image source and thus may not perform quite as well as standard Satellite View process Quick Links

Engaging Predictive Ground Speed Automation — Engage Ground Speed Automation near “normal” harvest speed. This may increase as you get more comfortable with the system. — Why this way: When you disengage the system by pulling back on handle or tapping the brakes, speed will not drop dramatically leading to a smoother experience Example: Good, Smooth Engagement
Example: Bad, Abrupt Engagement
Engage Ground Speed: 4.8 km/h Harvest Ground Speed: 6.0 km/h Disengage Difference: 1.2 km/h Result: Gradual, controlled slowdown
Engage Ground Speed: 2.5 km/h Harvest Ground Speed: 6.0 km/h Disengage Difference: >3.5 km/h Result: Feels like slamming on brakes

Unloading on the Go
Optimisation
Choosing the right mode Variable (Most Productive Option) — Machine speed will continue to vary while the unloading auger is engaged. Machine Sync or Auto Unload is recommended.
Offset — Machine speed will slow down when the unloading auger is engaged by the amount chosen by the operator. Ex.: if you are operating at 4.5 km/h, when the unloading auger is engaged the machine will slow down to 0.5 km/h to 4.0 km/h
Fixed — Machine Speed will hold at this set speed when the unloading auger is engaged the entire time the unloading auger is engaged. When the unloading auger is disengaged, the machine will resume normal operating speed set by the operator. Quick Links

Terrain Performance Changes how the machine controls ground speed in different terrain. Chooses between two modes: — Throughput Control Mode – Holds machine to the parameters outlined by the operator — Terrain Control Mode – allows the machine to push past engine power limit when climbing or descending a hill to compensate for the change in propulsion power Terrain Sensitivity Scenarios:
Sensitivity Slider — 1 Will keep the machine operating in Throughput Control mode in slopes up to 6 degrees — 5 will allow the machine to switch into Terrain Control Mode on slopes more that 2 degrees Quick Links

— If the machine is not respecting engine power limit by overshooting, move Terrain Sensitivity to 1 or 2. (Recommended for Small Grains and Beans) — If the machine is not respecting engine power limit by undershooting in gradual hills, move to 1 or 2. (Recommended for Corn harvest) — If the machine is not respecting hills enough – not showing terrain icon as often as it should, move to 4 or 5.

Limits Explanation Understanding Limits The limits refer to the highest allowable reading the combine will sense before automation will make a setting change to improve. Example shown across, Grain loss limit set to 5.0, the combine is sensing 5.3 so the machine is making settings changes to lower the sensed loss back down under 5.0 Understanding Limits: The Limit Numbers are a Unitless guide to indicate where the machine is currently operating in terms of performance, they do not reference any actual value such as % or bu/ac or kg/ha. As the number changes, this change is linear, meaning if a number doubles in value on screen, the amount of actual sensed loss, for example, would have doubled as well. These values are applicable on a given machine in its current crop type and condition. Verify if copying over limits to other machines.
Automation Tip:
Start with Job Quality Limits higher and lower down as needed to meet loss and quality goals Quick Links

Reasonable Real
Good Recent Performance
Limits that are too high will not cause settings changes if performance is good, but are not close enough to desired outcomes to respond quickly Great limits allow for quick system responses to issues that arise. Verify with ground truthing and grain sample checks to see if conditions change Slightly restrictive limits may be needed to bring performance to desired levels, but must verify this limit is attainable Very restrictive limits will not be achievable by automation

What Makes a Good Limit:
Tips and Tricks
Example:
Initial Automation
Revisited
— Make sure the limit is reasonable for your crop and conditions (i.e., Loss limit ≠ 0) — Utilize the Grain Loss and Grain Quality Limit Setting Tools to make sure your outcomes match expectations — Nudge grain quality limits as needed throughout harvest day
Solving Job Quality Issues: — Harvest Settings Automation will not make a settings change unless a limit is passed. — If automation is making unexpected changes, start by lifting up your limits for Foreign Material and Grain Quality above recent performance and tackle Grain Loss first (or whatever your top Job Quality priority is)

Job Quality Leverage Trust-Building Tools Grain Loss Limit Setting tool Use the Grain loss Limit Setting tool to understand your loss limit and what it represents in terms of actual measured loss. Loss Limit Tip: Perform loss checks in normal yielding, flat areas for best results
Set Grain Quality Limits Use this tool to control how your grain tank sample in reference to the amount of Foreign Material and Broken Grain. Adjust limits to adjust the grain tank sample.
Loss Limit Tip:
If Grain Loss Value seems too low or high as field conditions change, it is time to validate loss on the ground. Use the Grain Loss Limit Setting tool for an updated Limit.
Grain Quality Limit Tip: Use the Foreign material focus to prioritize between Chaff and Unthreshed, or MOG Light and Heavy

Harvest Settings Automation Losses When to check losses and grain quality Understanding Grain Loss — Grain Loss value may vary slightly machine to machine. Fleet level value is good starting point but can get more precise with loss checks. — Check losses in heat of the day and after evening crop shift to understand how environment affects value. — It is recommended to check loss daily or when changing crop type. Understanding Grain Quality — Grain Quality video feed with overlay helps operator understand what is being identified by automation as Broken Grain, Unthreshed, MOG Light, and MOG Heavy Quick Links

Machine Reaching Undesired Settings Settings Adjusted by Automation Corner conditions may require taking manual control of a harvest setting — First ensure that the Limits are set appropriately. — Harvest Settings Automation will not make a settings change until a Limit is passed — Ensure harvest calibrations such as concave, chaffer, and sieve clearance are done correctly. — Settings Adjusted by Automation allows the operator to influence which settings are and are not adjusted by automation. — If you are not wanting a specific setting to be adjusted by automation, uncheck the box beside that setting. Automation will not change that setting and will focus on the other settings to improve the Job Quality performance of the machine. In unsupported Crop Types, use the Optimize performance tab to help you Optimise the machine. Harvest Settings Automation must be toggled off to use Optimise. Quick Links

Factory Default
Factory Default Calibration
Operator Involvement None
— Every John Deere combine begins with a Factory Default Calibration, with two alternative options available to further refine calibration based on harvesting conditions. — A generic, pre-programmed factory calibration for all harvesting conditions globally. — New for harvest 2026: Calibration values are now specific to crop type and machine model on Model Year 2025 and newer combines.
Yield Calibration Pre-Programmed ActiveYieldTM
ActiveYieldTM
Operator Involvement Low
— Automatically calibrates yield as the grain tank fills, averaging the loads, eliminating the need for manual calibrations and saving the operator valuable time. — Best suited for: Minimal operator input desired | Field-Level totals are most important Limited/no access to scales |Not suggested for in-field trials
Yield Calibration Automatic; Field-level totals Manual Yield
Manual Yield Calibration — Operator manually calibrates using measured scale weights. For best performance, conduct a multi-point calibration by repeating the process at 3-4 consistent different flow rates. — Best suited for: In-field trials (alternating passes of different varieties) |Pass-to-pass consistency is desired Hills/Terrain/High moisture corn | Small fields with frequent short runs Quick Links
