This course is designed to provide you with up-to-date techniques and safety skills for travelling in New Zealand’s high mountains. It is directed toward fit and motivated people who have a background in resort-based skiing/snowboarding and wish to extend their skills into touring the glaciated backcountry.
Specifically geared to teach you skills for safe glacier travel and how to approach ‘big mountain’ skiing, you will become well versed in reading glacier terrain and how to navigate your way safely through it.
We helicopter into a high alpine hut in our national parks where you will get to ski some of our highest and biggest glaciers while on the course.
This course is big on learning and big on experience while skiing big terrain!
