Joint patrols strengthen US-German police partnership Story & photos by Senior Airman Edgar Grimaldo 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs In the crowded streets of old town Kaiserslautern, U.S. Air Force defenders assigned to the 569th U.S. Forces Police Squadron and German police officers from Dienstgruppe Flex, a Kaiserslautern police unit responsible primarily for old town Kaiserslautern patrolled side-by-side Aug. 7-8. U.S. Air Force personnel assigned to the 569th U.S. Forces Police Squadron walk alongside German police officers during a joint patrol in Kaiserslautern, Aug. 8. The patrol maintained a visible law enforcement presence in the city’s old town to deter misconduct, reassure residents and strengthen trust between the two police organizations.
