THINGS TO TAKE CARE OF AFTER YOU MOVE IN:
UCR CARD
Every student needs a R’Card. Please get your UCR card as soon as possible as this card serves as identification needed to pick up mail and packages at your Resident Services Office (RSO). This card can also be used to access the vehicle gate at your community.
KEYS
You will receive a key for your apartment and a facility key to access the pedestrian gates as well as the laundry room and community center.
COMMUNITY CENTER
The Community Center is a space where Oban family housing residents have access to amenities such as:
FOOD PANTRY. There is a little free
pantry available that Oban family housing residents are able to contribute to or take needed items from. Read more about our ‘Little Free Pantry.’
CHILDREN’S LIBRARY.
Donated books for children are showcased on a lovely bookcase in the community center. Just like our pantry, contribute or take a book.
ROOM RESERVATIONS.
Oban residents can reserve the community center for group activities through their MyHousing Portal.
PARKING AND VEHICLE GATE ACCESS
Parking permits are required for all cars and motorcycles parked in Housing parking lots. Please contact the office of
Transportation Services at (951) 8278277 for information regarding your RFID vehicle gate access tag.
The Transportation Services Office is open Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
BICYCLES AND SCOOTERS
UCR Transportation Services (TAPS) supports an internal bike and scooter registry system and recommends that residents license/register their bikes and scooters. Registration is provided at no cost to all residents. It helps to identify your property in the event your bike is lost, stolen, recovered, or impounded.
Residents in UCR Housing must register their scooters with TAPS to get an approved housing registration sticker allowing the scooter inside campus housing.
Register online and visit TAPS at your convenience to pick up your bicycle license/registration tags.
MAIL, PACKAGES AND YOUR NEW UCR MAILING ADDRESS
All mail and packages will be delivered and stored at the RSO. You will receive an email from housinginfo@ucr.edu when your packages are ready for pick up. The RSO only accepts mail and packages under the names of those residing in the apartment and will send back mail and packages received under non-resident names.
You will NOT receive an email regarding USPS mail. Please regularly check with the RSO if you are expecting any paper mail from USPS.

Please know that during peak delivery times such as Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, and holidays, there could be a delay in receiving mail and packages. Your patience in receiving notifications for packages during these times is needed and appreciated.
LAUNDRY
All laundry services at UC Riverside are paid for through the WASHConnect app. The app allows the user to find available machines, pay for washes, and get notified when the laundry is done, all within the secure app. Download the WASH-Connect app to get started.
* Payments on the app can only be made through credit/debit cards. Laundry costs per load are $1.75 to wash and $1.25 to dry
OBAN COMMUNITY HEALTH AND SAFETY
We have highlighted some of the amenities of the community and best practices to help keep the community healthy and safe.
OBAN PLAYGROUND
Our Auxiliary Services Custodial team cleans the playground daily, Monday through Saturday. Any personal items left behind will be removed and disposed of.
OBAN COMMUNITY CENTER
Our Auxiliary Services cleans the community center every morning, Monday through Saturday. In addition to this service, we need your assistance to keep this space a healthy and safe environment for your families. Please clean any mess that you make while using this space and contact your Campus Apartments and Family Houisng RSO if you find the space extremely messy or if you see any damages.
DISPOSAL OF DAMAGED FURNITURE
If you have large items such as furniture that are damaged and need to be disposed of, in addition to placing the item outside of the dumpster area, please also place a work order indicting the type of item and the location of the item. Request a repair online. After selecting your property, floor and space, you may place a work order with the Issue Type as Aux Moving and the Issue Sub Type as Furniture so that our Facilities team can pick up the items.
CLOTHES DONATIONS
If you have clothes items that you no longer need, there is a green donation bin located in the back parking lot near Oban Building E. Simply place the clothes and shoes in this bin. The donations are scheduled to be picked up periodically throughout the year. Please do not leave any unwanted clothes and shoes in any of our community areas such as the playground, laundry room, and the community center.
