KUNINGAN ECOWOOD HEIGHTS Projects : Residential Area : 8500 m2 Concept : Mass Timber Construction Innovation Materials : Hybrid-materials using wood and concrete
In response to the pressing challenge of high carbon emissions in DKI Jakarta, various strategies are being explored. One approach involves identifying effective and efficient vertical housing solutions, aimed at mitigating the impact of these emissions. Additionally, the investigation of material technologies plays a crucial role in addressing carbon-related issues within the city. Furthermore, efforts are being directed towards designing solutions that can optimize the application of modular wood in vertical housing projects throughout DKI Jakarta. This integrated approach not only addresses carbon emissions but also addresses concerns in the construction and building material sector, fostering a more sustainable urban environment.

jakarta's current challenges
Housing
Vertical expansion of cities is inevitable. Cities around the world are projected to become denser and taller in the future, as 70 percent of the population is expected to live in cities by 2050 according to some projections.
The urban population increased from 49.8% to 66.6% in the year 2035 (305 million people).

The name "EcoWood Heights" combines "Eco" to signify the building's commitment to environmental sustainability and low carbon emissions. The term "Wood" emphasizes the use of renewable and eco-friendly material in construction, which is prefabricated and modular, reducing waste and energy consumption. The word "Heights" signifies the high-rise nature of the building, offering residents not only a green and environmentally conscious living space but also the added benefit of elevated views and a sense of grandeur. "EcoWood Heights" conveys a modern and eco-conscious living experience in the prestigious neighborhood of Kuningan, Jakarta.

Wooden structures appear to emit the least greenhouse gases throughout their lifespan. Wood possesses the characteristic of carbon storage, benefiting the environment, at a rate of about 1 ton of CO2 per cubic meter. In addition, modularity involves using identical modules in various setups, enabling design variations without using numerous component types (McCluskey, 2000). Applying modularity to vertical housing, known for its standard layouts and design repetitions, is suitable.

Terracing as mass concept The architectural design takes into account multiple factors to create a harmonious and functional environment. It serves as a focal point and visual attraction from the main road, capturing attention and interest. Additionally, the strategic division of the west-east area helps in preventing excessive heat absorption, ensuring a comfortable climate. The design also acts as a buffer against the harsh rays of the sun, providing shade and relief. Moreover, careful attention is paid to maintaining the hierarchy of buildings, preventing them from obscuring one another and ensuring a balanced and aesthetically pleasing arrangement.

+ The Public Zone comprises a prayer room and an urban forest park that are accessible to the general public, along with a drop-off area and a lobby. + The Semi-Public Zone serves as a transitional area between public and private spaces, featuring functions such as co-working spaces, food stalls, mini markets, laundry facilities, and other supporting amenities for the apartments. + The Private Zone constitutes the area with vertical circulation to limited residential units accessible only to residents. The property management office, PLN substation, Main Distribution Board Room, Generator Set Room, and Waste Collection Point are also part of the private zone.

backgrounds Palaran Badminton Training Center is located on Jalan Utama Kaltim Stadium, Kecamatan Palaran within the Palaran Stadium Complex, Samarinda City area, East Kalimantan. Located outside Java, because well-known badminton clubs and training centers that have succeeded in producing outstanding athletes are still centered on the island of Java. The facility design project is planned to be built in Samarinda as part of the relocation of the New Nation's capital city to East Kalimantan, which is two hours away by motorized vehicle. It aims to provide the same opportunity to athletes from outside the island of Java. There are centers in various regions, and this project will, of course, be on a national scale. Typology based on sports facilities with categories of education and training facilities. This Training Center consists of Commercial GOR, Outdoor Field, Training Center, academy, and dormitory.

design issue TOPOGRAPHY: Response to site topography with wide-span building. The selected site features contoured topography, making the design of a sports building that requires a wide-span structure on uneven terrain one of the challenges that need to be addressed within such a topographical context.
COMFORT: Thermal and visual. Encompassing thermal and visual comfort, such as lighting arrangement, air circulation, color scheme, and sound management for both outdoor and indoor spaces. Badminton, as a sport, has its own specific standards for these aspects, which present one of the issues to be addressed.
ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILD DEVELOPMENT A child-friendly environment is a response to the prospective users of the project in achieving the main goal, which is to create spaces for nurturing young individuals to explore their potential, develop creativity, skills, and interests of the children. The criteria for activity spaces include spatial, visual, and thermal comfort, safety considerations, and appropriate material selection. This is crucial as the project caters to its primary users, young athletes aged 9-14, aspiring to become professionals.

Site Potentials & Constraints Solving challenges trough innovative breakthroughs in line with Singapore’s goal of being a creative city. Since Singapore has the potential to drive innovation in the cultural and creative sectors, thus enhancing Singapore’s vision to be resilience country. urban heat island
We live in an urban world with most of the world population living in cities and urbanized areas. By producing over 75% of global CO2 emissions, our cities are simultaneously contributors to and victims of climate change. At the same time, Singapore is located in coastal areas, deltas, or next to rivers, exposed to a range of water-related hazards such as floods, sea-level rise, landslides, superstorms or subsidence, that account for up to 75% of the natural hazards occurring in the world, the most frequent threats to our cities and lives. Our site is located in Pasir Panjang, Central Region of Singapore. Future development will flow across the site, bringing with it a variety of opportunities and limits. The presence of natural pathways, population and household trends, and the lack of water catchment surrounding the site are all factors to consider.

Projects : Film Community Location : Lisbon, Portugal Concept : Adaptive Re-use
a group project for Architecture Student Contest 2023 from Saint Gobain, by adriana, labitta qonitah, and tatania lintang alviani, supervised by mochamad donny koerniawan.
Initial idea comes from Lisbon’s social issue that has many unemployed youth and keep increasing over time and Lisbon’s potential as a heritage site for filming due to its strong historical background. NOBAR aims to create an OASE for Film Community Ecosystem in Lisbon or even Europe. No barrier means, it’s not only for film community but this place aims to cultivate habit of thought, creation, and artistic enjoyment for Lisbon’s citizen in general. We’re using circular economy and creative placemaking concept that drives into 3 main strategy : seamless continuity, visual transparency, and nodes of heritage scenes. This concept implemented in 3 main area of the project, Video library, Film co living, and Creative community park.
Circulation provided with a seamless continuity along external area to building area. In Creative community park, Instead of creating typical green space, we try to interweaving human and nature through split level spaces experience which can be additional space for film community to mingle in order to increasing social engagement. Transparent roof with solar panel on the top of it will generate energy for the site while become shading to underneath space. Through ramp from community park, people can access video library that created from adaptive reuse of heritage building.
The area arranged by 3 superimposed axis. Visual axis that continuous from Santa Catarina hills to Tagus River to maintain elongated character of the building and creating vista. Heritage axis to respecting the heritage, and Tagus river axis to strengthen the context. This axis defined circulation permeability and spaces in creative community park as a green and enjoyment space.
Film co living consist of 94 Unit of one bedroom and two bedroom unit. This building will accommodate film community who works on video library. Film co living consist of media art zone on the south, incubator zone, residences communal area, and roof garden. Media art zone is the main area on the ground floor which consist of interactive billboard to create vibrancy on surrounding area. This billboard will keep rua dom luis I street alive throughout the day. Terraced seating area can be use as a place to enjoy the beauty of tagus river. This place can also be use to watch street festival at any given time.
