ALL SEASONS SENIOR LIVING PRESENTS

YOUR SEASON

SPRING ISSUE 2026

FOR THE JOYS OF SENIOR LIVING

A Season of Growth

A DEEPENING COMMITMENT TO EXCEPTIONAL SENIOR LIVING

Spring is a season that reminds us of what’s possible. After the stillness of winter, we begin to see signs of renewal all around us—longer days, warmer sunlight, and the quiet but powerful return of growth. It’s a time that invites reflection, optimism, and a renewed sense of forward momentum.

At All Seasons, that same spirit of growth and renewal is shaping our path forward. As we continue to evolve and expand, our focus remains on creating exceptional environments where residents can live fully, connect meaningfully, and experience the very best of each day.

We are excited to share several developments that reflect continued growth. In Clarkston, we are expanding our community with the addition of 16 beautifully designed independent living cottages, offering even more opportunities for residents to enjoy privacy, comfort, and a vibrant lifestyle. In Ann Arbor, we are building upon the success of our 201-unit campus with the addition of 80 assisted living residences, enhancing our ability to support residents with evolving needs while maintaining the high standards of service and hospitality that define All Seasons.

Looking ahead, we are especially pleased to announce the development of a new All Seasons community in Delray Beach, Florida. This will mark our seventh All Seasons community and will feature

both independent and assisted living, thoughtfully designed to reflect the warmth, elegance, and lifestyle-driven experience that our residents value.

While each of these milestones represents physical growth, they are rooted in something deeper— our ongoing commitment to creating places where people feel at home, supported, and inspired. Just as spring brings new life and fresh beginnings, we are energized by the opportunity to continue growing in ways that enhance the lives of those we serve.

As we welcome the season ahead, we look forward to all that is taking shape—within our communities and beyond.

KATIE STRAND-EVANS

ALL SEASONS

ANN ARBOR

Katie Strand-Evans’ path to costume design began with an unexpected turn. Originally planning to study chemistry at Kalamazoo College, a change in family circumstances led her to the University of Michigan, where she discovered a new creative direction in the School of Art, majoring in Advertising Design. It wasn’t until her senior year, after taking a costume design class, that she found her true passion.

She went on to earn her Master of Fine Arts degree from Ohio University and built a distinguished career in higher education, teaching at the University of Michigan, Boston University, and Eastern Michigan University. During her 30-

year tenure at Eastern Michigan University, Katie taught a wide range of courses in the Department of Communication, Media & Theatre Arts. She designed and constructed costumes for more than 120 productions and hand-illustrated promotional posters for theatrical performances—bringing stories to life through thoughtful, detailed design.

Among her many accomplishments, Katie designed costumes for the character Angelica in a production of Giacomo Puccini’s Magic Hour, featuring actress Gilda Radner. She is also the author of the book "Costume Construction," which highlights the many skills behind creating stage magic—from sewing and fabric selection to draping, patternmaking, dyeing, and crafting detailed accessories like hats, masks, and historical garments.

Today, Katie continues to nurture her love of the arts at All Seasons Ann Arbor, where she enjoys pottery and participates in watercolor and acrylic painting classes—proving that creativity is a lifelong journey.

What We Are Reading

All Seasons Ann Arbor People of the Book: A Novel by Geraldine Brooks

All

Seasons Rochester

Hills A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman

A grumpy, routine-driven widower finds his solitary life unexpectedly disrupted when new neighbors arrive, bringing noise, chaos, and—eventually— connection. This heartfelt novel explores loss, love, and the transformative power of community, as one man’s guarded world slowly opens to friendship and renewed purpose.

All Seasons Naples Heartwood by Amity Gaige

All Seasons West Bloomfield Broken Country by Clare Leslie Hall

Set against the quiet beauty of the English countryside, Broken Country follows a woman drawn back to her rural hometown, where long-buried secrets and unresolved grief begin to surface. As past and present collide, the story unfolds through shifting perspectives that reveal how love, loyalty, and regret can fracture a community.

All Seasons Oro Valley The Swimmers by Julie

At a public swimming pool where a devoted group of regulars gathers each day, a crack in the pool’s floor becomes the catalyst for subtle upheaval. The Swimmers unfolds through a collective voice that captures routine, belonging, and quiet obsession, before narrowing to an intimate portrait of a woman slipping into dementia. Spare, poignant, and deeply observant, Julie Otsuka’s novel explores memory, community, and the fragile ways we hold on as our sense of self begins to fade.

When an experienced hiker mysteriously disappears deep in the Maine woods along the Appalachian Trail, a tense search unfolds that weaves together multiple perspectives—the vanished woman’s own poetic letters home, the Maine State Game Warden leading the rescue, and an unexpected armchair sleuth far from the wilderness. Heartwood is a gripping, atmospheric story of survival, human connection, and the paths that lead us back to each other.

CONGRATULATIONS

U.S. News & World Report Honors Entire All Seasons Portfolio as “Best of the Best”

All Seasons Senior Living is proud to announce that our entire portfolio of communities has been recognized as the “Best of the Best” by U.S. News & World Report. All Seasons earned top distinction in the 2026 U.S. News Best Senior Living ratings among nearly 4,000 communities nationwide.

All Seasons Ann Arbor, Birmingham, Rochester Hills, and West Bloomfield, Michigan, as well as All Seasons Oro Valley, Arizona, and Naples, Florida, were recognized in the Best Independent Living category. In addition, All Seasons Naples and All Seasons Oro Valley earned honors in the Best Memory Care category for their expanded levels of care.

Across the portfolio, communities were further distinguished with emblem awards for Management & Staff, Feels Like Home, Food & Dining, and Activities & Enrichment.

“This recognition across our portfolio speaks volumes about the consistency of the All Seasons experience,” said Jason Kohler, Executive Vice President of Senior Living at Beztak. “It reflects the commitment of our teams that go above and beyond to support a vibrant lifestyle

and make the communities truly feel like home for our residents.”

The U.S. News Best Senior Living ratings are based on comprehensive surveys of residents and their families, capturing satisfaction across critical factors such as safety, caregiving, management, staff, dining, and programming. Only communities achieving the highest overall scores are awarded “Best” status, making this across-the-board recognition especially meaningful.

“The All Seasons brand was created with an unwavering commitment to delivering an elevated lifestyle by blending hospitality, innovation, and meaningful connection,” said Sam Beznos, CEO at Beztak. “We’re not just building beautiful communities; we’re creating environments where residents truly thrive.”

Pet-Friendly Senior Living

BECAUSE HOME ISN’T HOME WITHOUT YOUR BEST FRIEND

At All Seasons, we believe life is richer, warmer, and more fulfilling when shared with those you love, including your pets. For many, pets are family. They bring companionship, comfort, routine, and unconditional love, making them an essential part of everyday life. That’s why our communities proudly welcome pets, ensuring residents can bring this important part of their lives with them when they move into their new home.

Our communities are thoughtfully designed to support an active, pet-friendly lifestyle. Spacious residences offer comfort and ease, while beautifully maintained outdoor spaces and walkable grounds provide the perfect setting for fresh air, movement, and daily routines with your companion.

Research shows that pet companionship plays a meaningful role in overall well -being, especially for older adults. Pets can help reduce stress, boost mood, encourage physical activity, and provide a strong sense of purpose. They also create natural opportunities for connection with neighbors and offer emotional comfort during times of transition, benefits that align with our holistic approach to senior living, centered on wellness, social connection, and quality of life.

Ultimately, being pet-friendly means recognizing that a true sense of home comes from feeling whole. By welcoming pets, All Seasons remains a place where residents can continue living the life they love — surrounded by meaningful connections, familiar routines, and constant companionship.

Protecting Your Wealth

SO YOU CAN KEEP LIVING WELL

You’ve likely spent decades building your financial life through hard work, thoughtful decisions, and navigating life’s many transitions along the way. And often, it’s those same moments, such as retirement, a move, or changes in family circumstances, that naturally prompt us to pause and take stock of where we stand. For many, transitioning into a senior living community marks the beginning of a new and meaningful chapter. The responsibilities of homeownership may be behind you, creating more time to focus on the things that matter most.

At this stage, it is only natural to start thinking about how to protect your nest egg and everything you have worked so hard to build while making sure it continues to support the life you want to live.

Protecting Against Running Out of Money

A well-structured financial plan can help answer that question with clarity. By understanding what it costs you to live, along with your income sources such as Social Security, pensions, and investments, you can begin to build a plan tailored to your individual situation. Beyond that, how you draw from your

accounts matters just as much as how much you have. A thoughtful, tax-sensitive withdrawal strategy, deciding which accounts to pull from and when, can help your money last longer and reduce unnecessary taxes over time. Coordinating withdrawals with Social Security timing and required minimum distributions (RMDs) can also play an important role. Working with a trusted advisor can help ensure these decisions are made thoughtfully and adjusted over time as your needs and the tax landscape evolve.

Staying Grounded Through Market Ups and Downs

Markets will fluctuate and headlines will come and go. In the short term, volatility is inevitable. But your financial plan should not be built around short-term noise, it should be grounded in a long-term strategy.

At this stage of life, protecting your wealth often means shifting the focus from growth to a “conservative” allocation however, just as it is too “risky” to have a portfolio invested entirely in stocks it is also too “conservative” to have the portfolio invested solely in bonds, annuities and other fixed income investments.

A well-diversified portfolio, aligned with your income needs and risk tolerance, can help reduce the impact

of market swings and provide greater peace of mind. Often, it is not the markets themselves that cause harm, but how we react to them that can create lasting damage to a well -thought-out plan.

Planning for the “What Ifs”

Another piece of protecting your wealth is preparing for the unexpected, especially when it comes to healthcare. While Medicare provides valuable coverage, it does not cover everything. Planning for potential out-of-pocket costs, long-term care needs, or unexpected expenses can make a meaningful difference. This is not about predicting the future. It is about building flexibility into your plan so that no matter what happens, you are prepared.

First, make sure you understand your Medicare coverage including prescription drug coverage (Part D) and whether a supplemental policy, such as Medigap, makes sense for your situation. These policies can help cover gaps like deductibles, copays, and other out-of-pocket costs.

Second, consider long-term care. If you already have a policy, take the time to understand how it works, including what it covers, when benefits begin, and how claims are paid. If you do not have coverage by your early 60s, it is often much more expensive to obtain, making it important to plan thoughtfully for how those potential costs would be handled.

Thirdly, maintain a dedicated emergency fund.

Having accessible savings set aside for unexpected expenses can prevent you from needing to draw from investments at the wrong time.

When you have accounted for the “what ifs,” it becomes much easier to focus on what matters most.

Protecting Yourself from Fraud and Mistakes

Unfortunately, financial scams and fraud are becoming more common, particularly among older adults. Protecting your wealth today also means putting simple safeguards in place:

• Adding a trusted contact to your accounts

• Being cautious of urgent or unsolicited financial requests

• Taking time before making large financial decisions

• Seeking a second opinion when something does not feel right

Often, it is not complexity that protects you. It is awareness and a few thoughtful precautions.

The Power of Simplicity

One of the most overlooked—but powerful—ways to protect your wealth is by simplifying your financial life. Over time, it’s easy to accumulate multiple accounts, scattered documents, and outdated information. While it may not seem like a risk, complexity can lead to confusion, missed details, and unnecessary stress—both for you and your family.

Simplifying can make a meaningful difference:

• Consolidating accounts where appropriate

• Organizing key financial and legal documents

• Reviewing and updating beneficiaries

• Ensuring a trusted person knows where to find important information Simplicity creates clarity. And clarity creates confidence.

Protecting Your Legacy

For many, protecting wealth isn’t just about today, it’s also about what you leave behind. Whether your goal is to support children and grandchildren, give to causes you care about, or simply ensure your affairs are in order, thoughtful planning can help you make a lasting impact. With the right plan, you often don’t have to choose between enjoying your life now and leaving something behind. You can do both.

Living Well—Today and Tomorrow

Protecting your wealth isn’t about restriction, it’s about confidence. When your plan is clear and your safeguards are in place, you can spend less time worrying about your finances and more time focusing on what matters most.

Because at the end of the day, financial planning isn’t just about numbers. It’s about giving you the freedom to live well today, tomorrow, and for years to come.

Financial Health Checklist

Take some time to create a simple personal balance sheet and cash flow summary. Knowing what you have and what you spend each month is the foundation for making confident financial decisions.

Review your investment mix to ensure it aligns with your income needs and risk tolerance level.

Review your current healthcare coverage and out-of-pocket exposure. Confirm what Medicare does and does not cover, evaluate whether supplemental coverage is appropriate, and ensure you have a reserve set aside for unexpected expenses.

Add a trusted contact to your primary financial accounts and talk with a family member or advisor about your plan for handling unexpected or suspicious requests. Having a second set of eyes can make all the difference.

Set aside time to create a simple, organized snapshot of your financial life. Make a list of your accounts, key contacts, and important documents, and store it in a place where a trusted person could access it if needed.

Review your estate plan and beneficiary designations to ensure they reflect your current wishes. If it has been a few years, or if your circumstances have changed, it may be time for an update.
