Bonding slurry prior to the installation of a TOPCEM PRONTO engineered screed

WHERE TO USE Topcem Pronto Slurry is used to prepare a bonding slurry prior to the installation of a Topcem Pronto bonded engineered screed. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use. TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS Topcem Pronto Slurry is a special bonding slurry formulated for use prior to the installation of Topcem Pronto engineered screed. RECOMMENDATIONS • DO NOT use Topcem Pronto Slurry on concrete substrates subject to rising damp. Please consult your local Mapei Representative or alternatively contact Mapei Technical Services on Freecall 1800 652 666 for further information • DO NOT mix Topcem Pronto Slurry with other binders or aggregates that are not listed • While Topcem Pronto Slurry has an excellent pot life, if it has started to set it must be disposed of. DO NOT add any more water or latex additive and DO NOT remix • Mix Topcem Pronto Slurry with the correct amount of Planicrete (mixed with the correct amount of water) OR Planicrete SP latex additive as per the mixing ratios listed overleaf • DO NOT apply Topcem Pronto onto the applied Topcem Pronto Slurry bonding slurry if it has dried on the substrate. The application must be wet-on-wet

• If the floor will be subjected to high mechanical stresses, use an epoxy bonding adhesive such as Eporip instead of Topcem Pronto Slurry APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS Examination Before work commences, examine the areas to be covered and report any deficiency or adverse conditions in writing to the general contractor, owner, developer or architect. DO NOT proceed with the work until surfaces and conditions comply with the requirements indicated in the current Australian Standards and manufacturer’s instructions. The temperature must be between +5°C to +35°C for the duration of the application. Surface Preparation All supporting surfaces shall be structurally sound, solid, dry, stable, completely cured, level, plumb and true to tolerances as per the current Australian Standards. They shall be clean and free of dust, oil, grease, paint, tar, wax, curing agent, primer, sealers, form release agents or any deleterious substance or debris which may prevent or reduce adhesion. Completely remove all loosely bonded paint/topping, loose particles and construction debris by mechanical means ie. shotblasting, scarification, diamond grinding or sanding. When preparing surfaces containing silica sand use an approved dust mask. Surfaces containing asbestos must be handled in accordance with current
