The Alison Bechdel test for gender equality in films
Why the film The Hunger Games passes the Bechdel test:
There are at least 2 women and they have names they talk together in the film they talk about something else than men. The film is a good female-centric action film that passes all of the 3 tests from the very beginning. Katniss has conversations with her mother, her sister, Effie Trinket and Rue. Only in the conversations with Rue is a love interest mentioned. The plot is very fiminist. Not only is the heroine female and has a strong relationship with her sister and her fellow competitor, she takes the initiative in her love relation. Morover she hunts, whereas he pick berries. She saves him,
