IS ADELAIDE FRINGE FOR ME? When considering putting on a show at Adelaide Fringe, it’s vitally important to be aware of the challenges and risks that come with being part of an open access festival. It is important to understand the model of Fringe and what it can and can’t do for you to determine whether it aligns with your creative pursuits. We can help you figure that out. Read more here.

WhAt's nEw in 2026? Concessions, now clearer!
Open early? Go for it!
We’ve split the standard concession ticket into three distinct types: Senior, Student, and Health Care Cardholder. This small change makes a big difference: it’s easier for venues to verify eligibility, easier for customers to find the right ticket, and easier for everyone to see who’s coming through the doors. It also brings us in line with other major ticketing outlets and events. More transparency, less guesswork.
Adelaide Fringe 2026 officially runs 20 February - 22 March but if you’re keen to start earlier, you can! We’ll still showcase and promote shows running ahead of the official festival dates - just note that unlike 2025, there won’t be a separate “Sneak Peek Week” campaign. All sessions will be live and ready to sell on the Fringe website from program launch, meaning early openers get full visibility right from the start.

Integrating Accessibility Guide with Official Fringe Guide By including accessibility information in the main guide, we can reach a much larger audience, improved visibility, and streamlined information.
Fringe Insider Launched in 2025, Fringe Insider is a dedicated database, built by invitation only from our wider Adelaide Fringe networks. Last season, over 300 events opted in via Manage My Tix to offer $5 (with no inside fee) last minute tickets. It’s a smart, low-effort way to reach new audiences and generate extra income where a comp would have made nothing.
My Reporting has moved To access Manage My Tix through AVR, you can now find your login credentials using the main menu and clicking on My Reporting.
We’re phasing out the standalone FringeTIX logo. From now on, our updated logo variations come ready to roll, with the Adelaide Fringe website and booking number baked right in. It’s a cleaner, simpler way to promote your show without juggling extra assets.
Manage My Tix gets an upgrade Presenters can now add and remove certain ticket types and activate standard promo codes directly from your Manage My Tix dashboard. No ticketing request needed (unless it's for something custom or complex). You can still run reports and issue comps, but now you can adjust your ticketing setup in real time, straight from the couch.
Help is closer than you think. It's now in AVR. Presenters can make specific change requests to their show’s Web Listing on adelaidefringe.com. au through AVR. Meaning no emails required to update your copy, images, video or social links. For performance changes, you can submit ticketing change requests right from AVR, using the new built-in support form! And with our newly simplified help resources, you’ll hardly need to leave AVR at all. 5

tiCketinG basiCs HOW DOES ADELAIDE FRINGE TICKETING WORK? Adelaide Fringe retains a 5% inside fee on tickets and that contributes to the costs of the ticketing staff, box offices, call centre and ticketing platform, from back-end building to front-end sales. This fee decreased in 2022 so we can put more money back in your pocket. Customers will only pay a Transaction Fee of $4.80 at cart check out for all points of purchase including online, at box offices and through the Adelaide Fringe Call Centre. This fee is one of the most competitive prices in the ticketing landscape.

tiCketinG basiCs WHAT ARE THE PRICE TYPES?
COMPANION CARD SCHEME
Take advantage of the different Ticket Price Types available. While optional, they’re beneficial in finding new audiences to drive sales. Fringe has specific marketing strategies that promote these ticket types, so by opting in, your show will be frequently promoted to the wider Fringe audience.
It is a condition of your registration that your show supports the Companion Card Scheme. The Companion Card ticket type is added automatically to all shows and sessions.
CASE STUDY: FRINGE INSIDER TICKET TYPE
Adelaide Fringe does not charge you when a complimentary ticket is issued under this scheme.
Just under 10,000 (9,828) Fringe Insider tickets were snapped up in 2025, averaging around 32 tickets per participating event. These were last minute, low-effort sales that helped artists fill seats without discounting their full-price offering, generating approximately almost $50,000 in revenue, where a comp would have generated $0. 339 events opted in to Fringe Insider via Manage My Tix, and over 85% (300 events) successfully sold Insider tickets.

Around 23% also purchased Earlybird, Midweek Treat, or Family tickets. They’re not just impulse buyers, they book ahead, attend quieter nights, support family-friendly shows, and Fringe Insider tickets might be what nudges them to see that extra show or take a punt on something new. 16.7% also redeemed BankSA Cardholder offers, with 9.5% using Artist/Passholder discounts. Note: Percentages reflect Fringe Insider customers who also purchased tickets in each category. These figures are not mutually exclusive, as many customers engaged across multiple ticket types.

Fringe Insider caters to impulse buyers — perfect for filling unsold seats close to showtime. Here’s how it broke down in 2025: Insight: 60% of sales happened within 48 hours of a show. This proves Fringe Insider is ideal for last-minute marketing pushes, not long-lead sales. Be strategic with the new Ticket Management tools in Manage My Tix: add Fringe Insider tickets at the right moment to help fill those last-minute seats without undercutting your full-price sales. 16

WHAT IS A MARKETING STRATEGY? As much as we hate to say it, your show is not for everyone - and that’s okay! Know who your show is for and find your audience. Identify what you set out to achieve and think about the touchpoints to convert someone to buy your tickets. Implement a budget that includes digital, print, distribution and any ad-hoc items that may incur costs.
For example, complimentary tickets to spread word of mouth. Consider engaging the press and media to promote your show. Grow your mailing list with customer data opt-in and remember to use your networks!
Our team has put together a Marketing Strategy Guide on some handy tips and tools for building your Fringe show.
WHAT ARE SOME HOT TIPS? Add ticket types - you’ll appear on more pages of the website and we run targeted campaigns to promote these shows Work with your venue - work together to maximise your exposure Team up with other artists - work together to save on costs
HOW CAN I ENHANCE MY SOCIAL MEDIA WITH ANALYTICS? Add your Meta Pixel and Google Analytics tracking codes in AVR to connect your Adelaide Fringe show page to your social accounts using API (Application Programming Interface). Learn more HERE. Utilising the Analytics API can: • Automate ad management with actionable insights • Personalise audience targeting • Target efficiency and measurable campaign Return on Investment (ROI) • Enable advanced analysis to make data-driven decisions.

MARkEtinG basiCs WHAT IS PAID MARKETING? There are so many options to reach your audience and new fans, but we understand budgets are tight. Think about the audiences you can reach organically through your social media and your contact lists, then consider who else you need to bring in to achieve your goals. Would it be Fringe Members? Local parents groups? Foot traffic around Adelaide?
For 2026, we're recategorising our email lists to better target our 120k+ subscribers, which means your ad can reach even more people! Stay tuned for more details.
