Year 7 's Mindful Magazine

Introduction
As part of our Introduction to Journalism unit, the Year 7 students created and published Mindful Magazine for students in Years 4–6.
We began by brainstorming ideas and thinking carefully about topics that would interest our target audience. After researching and checking our facts, we planned and wrote our first drafts. We then edited our work, received feedback, and improved our writing before completing our final drafts.
To make our magazine engaging and professional, we selected suitable photographs, wrote clear photo captions, and included photo credits.
This project helped us develop our writing, research, editing, and teamwork skills.
We hope you enjoy reading our Mindful Magazine!

How To Have Healthy Beautiful Skin
Who wants healthy skin? I'm sure you do. Young skin is very delicate, and we have to start protecting it for the future. So when can you start? Start today! If you don’t know how read along and find out!
Skin care order
Even though the name might sound simple, skin care is a rather long process! In the morning, you need to wash your face gently. Then use a toner to moisturize your face and put cream that is not heavy. Lastly, put on sunscreen which is important to protect your skin. In the night, you have to cleanse your skin first, then wash your face gently. After that put on toner and cream. This will make sure you skin stays healthy and soft all day!

What to eat foryour skin
Skin care is not the only way to keep your skin healthy. You also need to eat well. Firstly, you need to eat vegetables and fruit. My recommendations for vegetables are tomatoes, avocado, carrots, and pumpkin. For fruit, you can eat berries, strawberries, lemons, oranges, and grapefruit. Protein is also important, like chicken, egg, fish and soy. Make sure that you eat fruit and vegetables every day.
Water and Sleep
You must drink lots of water to keep your skin moisturized. I recommend drinking 200 ml of water when you wake up, during meals, before and after taking a shower, and before you sleep. Try to drink at least 1.5 litres of water everyday. Also, it’s important to sleep at least 8 to 9 hours every night to keep your skin fresh and clean.

Top 3 Basic Crochet Stitches
By Miraaya Hashumal
Crocheting is a really fun hobby you can do anytime, anywhere. All you need is a hook and yarn. Anyone can crochet, even kids! Everyone should try crocheting, so they can get off their electronics. Here are 3 basic stitches you should try to learn!
How To Do Chain?
Crochet stitches have abbreviations for different stitches. We are going to learn chain (ch) which is the most basic stitch in crochet. Firstly, you have to make a slipknot. To do a slipknot, you take your thumb and index finger, wrap the yarn around the fingers twice and pull the working yarn. To make your slipknot small, pull on your tail, which is the shorter part.. Hold your hook like a pencil and yarn over with the hook: pull through, and repeat.

Many crochet projects are mainly made with single crochet (sc). Once you learn this crochet stitch all the other stitches will be easy to learn. To do single crochet you need at least ten chains. First insert your hook into the chain then, yarn over, pull through and you should have two loops on your hook and then yarn over again. Pull through both those loops and repeat.

Three Things To Do When Travelling Without WIFI
By Tair Shakhaidar
Have you ever had a situation when you are on an airplane and have no WIFI, so you were extremely bored for the entire flight? Well I got you! Here are three cool things you can do when traveling without WIFI.
Play offline games
The obvious first thing is to play an offline games. Traveling usually is long, so while you are stuck on the plane you can play. I personally recommend arcade games like “Subway Surface” or “Crossy road”. Both of these games are endless so you can play them for a very long time. But if you want something more fast and dynamic, I recommend a game called “Asphalt 8”

Use The WIFI on Transit or Stops
When you’re traveling and you have transit or stops use the WIFI there. Many big airports have free WIFI for passengers, but smaller ones have no WIFI at all or you need a passwords. But if you have WIFI the best thing you can do is to download a video because you don’t want to be bored for rest of trip

These are the best things you can do when you are offline while traveling, but remember, you always can stop being on your screen and look around at the real world!!

Top 3 Worst Airlines in the World
By Qaiser Anaqi
Spirit Airlines
Spirit airlines are from the USA, and has operated since 1992. They flew 27,778 flights. People said it’s the worst because the flight attendants are rude, people had to pay for food, and the seats are uncomfortable. People even say that their website is bad because when they try to select and buy their flights they just get a error. Take off and landings are okay, but many people got delayed or even cancelled

Many dream of becoming a professional footballer. They imagine scoring goals and making their family proud, but becoming one in real life is really hard. Not everyone becomes one. Sometimes a dream stays a dream. But I am here to get you a few steps closer to making your dreams reality.
Develop Essential Skills
Beginner skills are really important if you want to be a professional footballer. This includes dribbling, passing, and having a good first touch. This helps you keep the ball and play better in matches. You should also learn simple tactics like teamwork and positioning. Staying healthy is also important, and so is strength and agility.
Play for a Competitive Club
To get better at football, you should join a good club where other players are serious.Agood club is with coaches that teach you new skills and teammates that don't pressure you. If you play for a small club, keep working hard and listen to your coach. If you keep training hard, you have a chance of making it to a professional academy
Attending Trials and Showcasing Talent
Trials are big tests where scouts watch you play to see if you are as good as they want you to be. If you want to do well, you need to train a lot before the trial and stay calm even if you feel nervous. When you play with teamwork and try to improve, you might get picked for the team.

Getting Scouted and Signing with anAcademy
Scouts usually watch matches or trials to find the best talent. To impress the scouts, you should always play your best. If a scout likes how you play, you might get invited to a top academy and that will really help you become a professional footballer
Professional Contracts and Playing at a High Level
When you get really good, teams might offer you a contract.A contract is a agreement that players sign, that says how long you play for and how much money you earn. This part might really stress you out because you get really excited to go do your best and your performance might get bad.

Becoming a professional footballer takes a lot of hard work and passion for the game. You should keep training and never give up. If you stay focused and believe in yourself, your dream may actually come true.

Once Upon a time...
Another thing you can do which is also a bit creative is reading. Reading is a great thing to do when you are facing boredom, with 64 percent of adults doing so as well. You can even make your own story or poem! Grab some paper and a pen and scribble away! But you can’t just toss it away when you’re done, show it to your friends and family, they’ll love it!

Maybe you, like me, are one of those people who just CAN’T sit still! Then I have a solution for you. GET MOVING. Walk around your table, do some yoga, and feel free to call a friend over to play tag with. Sports and exercise are great fun Think more dodgeball with Mr Andi and less running alone in the morning for 30 minutes and then stretching
