Dear Parents and Friends of Sunderland, On Monday afternoon, Mr Robson and I visited many of the camps that over 300 of our Year 6-11 (inclusive) students attended from Monday -Wednesday. The camps were in great spirits, even with the Spring weather challenging some of the activities. From tramps to high rope courses to mountain biking and confidence courses with river crossings and mud, I’m sure our young students are taking advantage of all these opportunities. This is the first time since 2019 that Sunderland has been able to return to our normal ‘Outdoor Education’ programme with all students from Year 3-13 having the opportunity to take part in our challenging yet safe programme. With over 300 children away, this required all the college staff plus several primary staff to assist in this programme – which is just wonderful. I would suggest no other school currently can accommodate so many of their young people away con-currently.
