Origins of Metsan relies on mould production. It is the mould technology and knowledge we have that enables us today a wide range of products and fast prototype manufacture.
Metsan which has been manufacturing mouls for leading actors in the sector made a strategic business decision in 1987 and took the first step in lighting industry with initial 12x50 Pluton Series. There was an increasing demand for halogen spots in pluton style. Hence entering into the sector by this group was the most convenient option.
Russia turned into a grand market as a result of the collapse of the Eastern Bloc. Turkey has become a major industrial production line with regard to both geographical proximity and production capacity. Meanwhile, Metsan carried out the very first exportation to Russia.
The synchrony in accordance to the export compelled a raise in capacity. During this period, Metsan invested in its initial factory in Çağlayan.Product range advanced subsequently and various product groups emerged according to the needs of lighting industry.
Increased capacity and high demand of exporting locations required new plant enterprise. During this year, Metsan activated a new factory occupying 3000 m2 closed space in Kağıthane. Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria joined to the exported countries.
Machinery Capabilites Improved
By means of export, Metsan obtained not only a producer identity, but also an identity of an exporter.

Production aimed at exportation revealed considerable progress in product range and quality improvements.
Metsan was capable of conducting mass production of products more than a hundred by the help of enhanced product range.
Together with the new plant the manufacturing process involved a structure divided into departments.
First rule to exist long years in lighting industry is to dominate the mould. We began producing mould in a 50m2 workshop in 1982. The turning machine that we made our first moulds at is now resting in the factory.
We brought halogen products out which attained high demand owing to our broad knowledge and ingenuity. Metsan succeeded in composing Pluton product group and consequently gave up manufacturing mould for the market and began to exploit the mould room merely to develop its own products.
To keep pace with new progress in technology is vital in order to keep our products up to date.With this in mind, Metsan furnished the equipment pool with the latest automation systems. Through this turn the capacity boosted 200% and the performance as well. In order to supply product for diverse markets recent production technologies should be employed. Assembly lines rested upon technology and integrated with qualified human resource strengthened the perception of quality within the sector.

A decade ago the construction industry progressed substantially particularly in Turkey. There was an intense demand for Metsan products which have high quality- price ratio both in private sector and public projects.
Led technology in lighting products commenced to spread towards the end of 2000s. Metsan followingly took action to manufacture first led product range. For leds Metsan made an agreement with worlwide leader Nichia comprising supplyent and technology support. And it put Led Downlight Series on with Nichia assurance.
As the brand familiarity ascended, practices began to redesign the corporate identity. It was a turning point for Metsan on the way to branding.
Technological improvements were achieved with investments for new machinery. The range of products was broadened and quality enhanced with the purchase of CNC, Aluminum and Zamak Injection machinery.

The brisk in African market fostered Metsan to enhance its production capacity once more. Metsan founded a new production facility in Hadımköy due to scarce volume. A novel period has begun in exportation to Africa and Turkic Republics market via the production at 15000m2 closed space. The raise in production capacity brought about capability of supplyment in high quantities and it outshone all the others. With the foundation of new factory in Hadımköy Metsan took the first step in institutionalisation in terms of administration
