Chairlifts, crowds, snow that bends and moves. Pete Caswell’s paintings sit inside the ski resort – capturing the churn, colour and restless movement of days spent riding lifts, skiing pistes, and chasing that one-lastrun feeling long after the lifts stop turning.

Long before painting became a practice, skiing was already a language in Sandra Fransson’s life. That relationship – formed in the far north and carried through winters, travel and loss – now surfaces in work led by light, mood and memory rather than literal place.
Sangwon Lee paints everyday life from a vantage point that feels slightly removed, as if recollected rather than witnessed. By lifting ordinary leisure scenes, like skiing, into a quiet, elevated frame, his work captures the overlooked rhythms of daily life, and lets familiar moments sit for a little longer.
This conversation begins on familiar ground. In St. Anton, where skiing has a long memory, Peppi Spiss has spent decades watching, working and returning to the same idea. What follows begins there.
