ChOmp, chOmP!

Oh, hi there! Chomp . . . please, excuse me for talking with my mouth full. I was having one of my many snacks . . . I am BILL the CATERPILLAR and I am the guardian of the vegetable garden. I know all of its secrets, especially its flavors and smells.

COME AND LET’S ENJOY THEM TOGETHER!

Every day I wake up early and then, crawling slowly, slowly, I make the rounds of the whole vegetable garden. From the lettuce to the grapefruit then all the way over to the strawberries, I savor all the flavors that I find there. Follow my path with your finger and you will see what a vegetable garden looks like!

Yum, Yum!

I have just filled up on some of my favorite fruits! How sweet they are!

Trace the outlines of the apple and pear with your finger. Spot the differences!

PEAR

Careful of these two, they’re very SOUR!

GRAPEFRUIT

Do you know what I love about my vegetable garden? The waiting. I wait patiently for that tiny seed to grow into a seedling that with time and care will become a delicious fruit tree!

Starting from the lighter circle follow the arrows to the darker circles to find out how a fruit tree grows!

There are some vegetables that I am not able to get to. They grow inside of a little capsule that protects them from me. Do you know which ones they are?

Trace the path from the pod to the seed.

BEAN
PEA
LENTIL

Ah. I have tasted every fruit and vegetable in the garden but I am still not quite satisfied! Let’s mix together some fruits and vegetables and discover some new flavors!
