Ausgehend vom Schmuck und dessen sprichwörtlicher Unvergänglichkeit experimentiert Gisbert Stach mit Prozessen der Transformation, der Verflüchtigung sowie der Umwertung: Schmuckstücke werden in Asphalt eingearbeitet, in Säure aufgelöst, mit Messern beworfen. Zermahlener Bernstein dient als Pigment, um Broschen das täuschend echte Aussehen von Schnitzeln zu verleihen. In seiner 25 Jahre währenden Gold- und Silberschmiedetätigkeit erweiterte Gisbert Stach den Schmuckbegriff zudem durch die Medien Fotografie, Video und Performance. Beginning with jewellery and its proverbial timelessness, Gisbert Stach experiments with processes of transformation, transience and revaluation: pieces of jewellery are worked into asphalt, dissolved in acid or used as targets in knife-throwing performances. Ground amber serves as a pigment to give brooches the deceptively real look of schnitzels. In his twenty-five years of working as a silver- and goldsmith, Gisbert Stach expanded the notion of jewellery to include other media such as photography, video and performance.
