Written by bestselling fashion writer Terry Newman

Featuring beautiful photos

If you thought you knew everything there was to know about Marilyn Monroe think again. Terry Newman is a masterful writer with a forensically investigative style, revealing so much more about Monroe s role as a fashion influencer than the bombshell sex goddess in shimmering sequins, that became shorthand for her image.   Forbes

Eternally stylish How Marilyn Monroe continues to influence fashion today.    Tempus Magazine

Marilyn Monroe s world was the stuff of fairy-tale the orphan who conquered Hollywood and hailed as the most beautiful woman in the world before her untimely death in 1962.

Marilyn Monroe Style celebrates Marilyn s impact on fashion by revealing the influence of her many iconic looks. Her wardrobe encompassed sensual femininity as well as low-key minimalism. Outfits span from shimmering showpieces such as the Jean Louis gown worn to serenade JFK on his birthday, to Pucci slacks and cats-eye spectacles.

Born Norma Jeane Mortensen, whenever she became Marilyn, she mesmerised onlookers with showstopping outfits that helped make her a legend, yet throughout her life the clothes she wore represented many ways of being a woman.

Written by Terry Newman the bestselling author of Taylor Swift and the Clothes She Wears this book tells the story of Marilyn s life through clothes and is essential reading for Marilyn Monroe fans everywhere.

Published in collaboration with the Estate of Marilyn Monroe.

Terry Newman worked in the fashion industry for more than 20 years, both as an editor at i-D, Attitude, and Self Service and as a contributing writer for newspapers including the Guardian, Independent, Times, and the Sunday Times. A love letter to Italy expressed through fashion, craft, tradition, festivities, camaraderie, and sense of la dolce vita. Forbes

lovers of fashion will discover a world full of creative artistry and talented workmanship. The Hollywood Times

Dolce&Gabbana s Alta Moda shows are the epicentre of Italian fashion. The luxury lifestyle brand began its annual grand flourishes in 2012 and has since made a custom of staging the last word in Italian elegance with shows unlike any other, each lasting an entire weekend at an exclusive, invitation-only location.

Behind the scenes of these unique events, the preparations are meticulous, with designers, models, crew members, directors and makeup artists, all adding their finishing touches before the first silhouette is cast out on the runway. Matt Lever is one of only a handful of photographers ever invited to the shows. Covering almost every show since their inception, his images of the backstage commotion take us on a visual journey through Dolce&Gabbana s intimate inner workings.

Lavishly illustrated, La Dolce Vita is a sublime coffee-table volume, perfect for fans and followers of high fashion and a compelling work of art for anyone with in an interest in the sculpting of the most lauded pageants in the fashion calendar.

The second volume in the series, Amigos Forever, about artists and their dogs, following the success of Picasso and his Dogs 9782376660897

I only feel comfortable at home with my dog, my pencils and my paper Yves Saint Laurent, The Guardian, February, 2000

Successor of Christian Dior then director of his own fashion house, Yves Saint Laurent has established himself as a visionary designer throughout his career. Inseparable from the myth of Saint Laurent, his dogs accompanied him as much in the habitation of his apartments shared with Pierre Bergé, as in the effervescence of the workshop on Avenue Marceau, and fashion shows. The author highlights the forgotten dogs of childhood, extravagant chihuahuas, such as Hazel, who were faithful companions of the artist for more than 20 years. Effigies on annual greeting cards, evening models for Rive Gauche, and muses of Warhol or Hockney, the four famous French Bulldogs all named Moujik will be an integral part of the legend of the creator.

Enriched by a new iconography by Hedi Slimane, artistic director of Saint Laurent from 2012 to 2016 and artistic director of Céline since 2018, the book includes nearly 80 images from photographic archives, and drawings by Yves Saint Laurent.

Director of the Amigos Forever collection and author of this book, Martin Bethenod has held many positions in the field of culture and contemporary art. Since 2013 he has been the president of the Crédac Centre d'art contemporain in Ivry, and president of the Archives de la Critique d'Art.

A unique and intimate, behind-the-scenes, first hand testimony of the fashion world viewed from the eyes of a fashion model

A index of terminology used in the modelling industry

A visual narrative and diary

Contemporary snap-shot photography

THANK YOU BYE was born out of a need to put down somewhere what I have experienced over the last five years. Although it gives the impression of a veil being lifted, it is simply a record of my personal experience. The intention, through these hundreds of photos, is to transcribe the absurd, crazy and little-known world of modelling, by means of an unpublished souvenir album of my time spent in fashion. The result is THANK YOU BYE, which owes its name to the phrase uttered by casting directors every time you walk in front of them. It recounts my moments of sadness, my anxieties, my unease, my questions, but also our laughter, our travels, our togetherness, our mutual support. Five years during which I fought not to lose myself. Thrown at the age of 18 at a speed I found hard to manage into a dimension that was not my own, I embrace all the models who pose in this book and who, without realising it, helped me to escape. What you hold in your hands is none other than the last chance to prove that I was still worth something. When you turn the last page, you ll know that I ve resigned and can finally say that I m happy. Clémentine Balcaen

Clémentine Balcaen (°1999) is a fashion model who graced catwalks and fashion magazine covers for five years from the age of eighteen. During this hectic life she documented her travels, friends and crazy moments, using a point-and-shoot film camera. These images, that came in the hundreds, have been narrowed down and put into a pocket-size photobook showing 373 photographs in a 416 pages book.

Highlighting the oeuvre of Man Ray from the perspective of fashion, uniting Man Ray s iconic photography and works of art with interbellum fashion silhouettes and the work of contemporary fashion designers and photographers inspired by his work Featuring historical fashion images by Man Ray including portraits of designers such as Elsa Schiaparelli

Featuring contemporary works by Paul Kooiker, LOEWE, Martin Margiela, Olivier Theyskens and Dries Van Noten

Featuring couture such as Chanel, Maison Lanvin, Madeleine Vionnet, Norine, Yves Saint Laurent, as well as for important fashion magazines, including Harper s Bazaar, Vanity Fair and Vogue, with graphic design (Jelle Jespers) inspired by Alexey Brodovitch

Man Ray and Fashion was published in addition to the exhibition at MoMu (Fashion Museum Antwerp) in 2023. Man Ray was a widely versatile artist who worked with a range of different media and did not like to be pigeonholed. The way he portrayed women and their clothing continues to influence fashion photographers today. Man Ray used new and unexpected angles, employed artistic staging, and applied such innovative processes as solarization and multiple exposure to his fashion photography.

In recent decades, fashion designers continue to find inspiration in his Surrealist imagery. This is most notably true for Belgian designers, with their avant-garde mindset. Completely in line with the concept of Surrealism, these references are often subconscious. Part of Man Ray s extensive history is brought together in this book alongside contemporary works by the likes of Paul Kooiker, Martin Margiela and Céline (among others).

The first book about Antwerp's unique & eccentric fashion brand Essentiel Packed with beautiful fashion photography

With an original gadget: an ornamental clothes peg

Essentiel Antwerp celebrates its 25 years. Going off-piste since 1999, the label was founded as an antidote to the minimalistic and monochromatic fashion scene. With an extensive ready-to-wear, every collection articulates the brand s unapologetic, down-to earth DNA. Expect an abundance of maximalist designs that merge unabashed femininity with comfort and wearability. Designed in Antwerp, Essentiel Antwerp is an ode to play. Life s too short for minimalism. Vibrant colours, bold prints and unexpected juxtapositions that raise smiles, that s the Essentiel Antwerp signature. This stunning volume contains an ornamental clothes peg, nestled within the pages of the book.

The Antwerp-based brand is influenced by the numerous life experiences of its founders Esfan Eghtessadi and Inge Onsea.

Esfan, the son of Nicole Cadine, grew up in a world of textiles, sketches and fashion collections. Inge had a vintage loving mother, was a fashion model and spent five years in India, where she fell in love with colours, prints and unexpected combinations.

In 1999 Esfan and Inge took a chance and launched a T-shirt collection. Four styles, twenty different colours: their response to the monochrome fashion landscape. After a year, the first store opened in Antwerp. Four seasons later, knitwear, jackets, dresses, shirts, and trousers in trendy colours, new materials, and an entire range of accessories were added. Essentiel Antwerp grew into a global brand with a powerful message of love, fun, and colourful surprises. A universal message that translates anywhere and everywhere in the world.

The first-ever international book dedicated exclusively to motherhood in relation to fashion

The use of iconic imagery enhances its visual appeal. Interviews with fashion designers offer valuable, contemporary insights on the subject From the Blessed Virgin, to contemporary fashion experiments that debunk stereotypes, to the testimonies of non-binary parents, surrogacy parents and adoptive parents, from Christian Dior's New Look to the designs of Jacquemus and the regal women who carry off South African Thebe Magugu: the mother figure as a source of inspiration and creativity in fashion is back from... never having left?

Published to accompany the exhibition M&OTHERS at the Fashion museum Hasselt, Belgium, from 14 June 2024 to 5 January 2025

This book offers an in-depth exploration of the relationship between fashion and motherhood, a topic that is explored in detail for the first time. Mothers, mother figures, mentors and family ties are intimately intertwined with fashion history. Many designers reach back to the style of their mother s day, but mums themselves are also a big source of inspiration. Symbolic fashion mothers, such as Jeanne Lanvin, Madeleine Vionnet and Sonia Rykiel, made an artistic mark on the creations of their contemporaries and are still influencing present-day designers. From 1900 onward there was a growing appreciation of the cultural identity of mothers, both in fashion and in society. In 20th and 21st century fashion, this culminated in a veritable celebration of mothers and mother figures.

A fashion retrospective in a coffee-table book on the occasion of the current '90s revival

A comprehensive look back at an exciting fashion decade: over 200 pages and more than 150 high-quality photographs

Including chapters on fashion icons of the '90s

The 1990s Fashion Book is a tribute to the unique fashion of that time. Flashy, colourful, casual and sexy, these were the attributes that applied back then. Top models, hip-hoppers or pop groups like Take That and the Spice Girls exemplified a fashion style that triggered a boom all over the world.

It is fair to say that, in retrospect, hardly any other decade has had such a formative effect on modern times as the 1990s. It is considered a decade of revolution, in which almost everything that had existed before changed at breakneck speed. This is when ground-breaking technologies such as the internet or nationwide mobile telephony came into being, without which our lives today would be unimaginable.

Modern pop culture and current fashion design originate to a large extent from the cradle of the 90s. Sub-trends of the time such as grunge, hip-hop, minimalism, casual chic and deconstructivism are, in retrospect, what continues to have an impact today.

When it comes to fashion, the term icon is almost invariably associated with a person: a man or, more often, a woman whose style has left a mark on the collective imagination. And yet, there are also objects that have the same extraordinary evocative power, items of clothing or accessories which, in different ways, have revolutionised the history of fashion. The birth of the Burberry trench coat, flat pumps or Givenchy s little black dress were milestones after which nothing was ever the same. Each designer, label or fast-fashion manufacturer has had to come to terms with fashion icons existence, by quoting or revisiting them, or simply by copying creations that have now become classics. Some of these are even known by their original name, like the Kelly bag and Borsalino hats. Others, over the years, have also gained sociopolitical connotations (Levi s jeans, for example, which were once workwear, became a symbol of the Sixties youth revolution), while others, such as Hermès scarves and Chanel No.5 perfume, continue to be status symbols. This book with historical illustrations, cult advertising and beautiful still life shots of the products featured, narrates the history and anecdotes, and tells of the famous people and intrinsic values relating to the must-have fashion items.

Federico Rocca was born in Sondrio in 1975. He graduated from the DAMS at Bologna with a degree in history, writing his thesis on Peter Del Monte, which was considered for the Premio Sacchi award. He then worked in screenplay writing, first for Telepiù, and then for Sky, after which he entered the fashion world. As editor and author, he published Embroidery Italian fashion (2006), Silvana Mangano (2008), Contemporary Indian fashion (2009), and edited Hermès, l'avventura del lusso (2011). Today he is a professional journalist and fashion editor for www.style.it, the fashion and lifestyle portal of Condé Nast
