La cintura creata insieme a LCB COMPANY è composta da segmenti in jeans blu, bleached e pelle nera, tutti impunturati a mano.

La fibbia e i connettori sono fasciati in cotone con fantasia gingham. I fori per l’ardiglione sono ricamati in filo naturale.

Anche questa cintura è un pezzo unico.

The belt, created along with LCB COMPANY, is made up of segments in blue jeans, and bleached and black leather, all hand stitched.

The buckle and connectors are wrapped in a gingham-pattern cotton.

The holes for the prong are embroidered in natural thread.

This belt is also a one-of-a-kind piece.

Ho frequentato tantissimo il teramano e la zona di Sant’Egidio.

Il distretto si è sviluppato enormemente negli anni 90, e dopo la crisi del 2009 le aziende ancora in attività si sono specializzate e hanno puntato sull’alta qualità attraendo i grandi brand del mondo del lusso.

Emidio è un caro amico ed è a capo del RICAMIFICIO G.S.

Con lui, Anna, la responsabile creativa dell’azienda, e le 80 persone che lavorano con loro, abbiamo trattato con ricami e laser gran parte dei denim di BLUE.

I frequently visited the area of Teramo and Sant’Egidio.

The district developed enormously in the 1990s and, after the crisis in 2009, the companies that still remained in business specialized and focused on high quality, attracting big brands from the world of luxury.

Emidio is a dear friend and is the head of RICAMIFICIO G.S.

Along with him, the creative director of the company – Anna, and the eighty people who work with them, we laser worked and embroidered most of the denim in BLUE.

Come un collage.

Parti di una tovaglia, una sciarpa fatta a mano comprata al mercato

antiquario di Arezzo, un mix di punti maglia, tutti diversi, che con precisione e meticolosità sono stati assemblati dalle mani pazienti delle artigiane del laboratorio.

Like a collage. Parts of a tablecloth, a handmade scarf bought at the Arezzo antiques market, a mix of knit stitches, precisely and meticulously assembled by the patient hands of the tailors in the workshop.

Michele è una persona molto solare e piena di energia che mi ha colpito subito, un disegnatore di tessuti con grande esperienza sulle stampe e sulle tecniche di lavorazione speciali. Con la sua start up Michelle Star opera in diversi progetti, tra i quali la creazione di un consorzio che gestisce le risorse di derivazione agricola delle materie prime e lavora per il recupero e valorizzazione dei materiali di scarto del settore tessile.

La tela mosaico ricavata da vecchie paia di jeans, una miriade di pezzetti di jeans ritagliati e cuciti insieme, rappresenta la nuova vita che si può dare a un materiale usato. Un piccolo segno nella direzione del design sostenibile e dell’economia circolare.

I had a special meeting with Michele Manarin

Michele is a very cheerful person who is full of energy. He is a fabric designer who impressed me right off the bat, with a great experience in prints and in special processing techniques. He has worked on various projects through his start-up, Michelle Star, including the creation of a consortium that manages the resources of raw materials from agricultural origin and works on recuperating and refining waste and scraps from the textile sector. The mosaic canvas made from old pairs of jeans, a myriad of pieces of jeans cut out and sewn together, represents the new life that can be given to used material. A small step towards sustainable design and the circular economy.

Aristide è un artista francese che trent’anni fa ha comprato casa e una fornace a Murano dove oggi crea tutte le sue opere in vetro.

Entrare nella sua fornace è veramente uno spettacolo.

Vedere lavorare i maestri vetrai che soffiano e modellano il vetro che esce dal forno incandescente a 1400 gradi è un’emozione unica.

Qui lavorano solo le mani e il fiato, non esiste tecnologia ma solo l’uomo con la sua grande arte e manualità...

Tutto nasce da una telefonata dove io racconto ad Aristide del nostro nuovo libro e dell’idea di fare un manichino artistico in vetro da fotografare per le pagine di BlueTailoring e da vestire con i 45 outfit, durante la presentazione del libro.

Aristide ne è subito entusiasta.

29 gennaio

Venezia è un po’ nebbiosa ma più ci avviciniamo a Murano più il cielo si apre in una splendida giornata di sole. Il taxi d’acqua ci porta proprio davanti alla sua casa e lui è lì ad aspettarci. Andiamo insieme a visitare la fornace.

I luoghi che mi mostra sono pieni di energia creativa, colmi di opere di vetro bellissime.

È entusiasmante vedere il lavoro dei mastri vetrai che trasformano una palla incandescente di vetro in un oggetto d’arte sotto la guida di Aristide.

Un’operazione lunga, tecnicamente laboriosa e meticolosa, dove la bravura, la precisione e la manualità dei maestri soffiatori e dei loro assistenti è fondamentale.

Appena torno in studio manderò a Murano un manichino in legno per prendere le proporzioni. Sono felice e curioso di vedere il risultato finale.

Aristide is a French artist who, thirty years ago, bought a house and a furnace in Murano, where today he creates all his glass works. Entering his glass factory is truly a sight. Seeing glass masters blow and shape the glass that comes out of the incandescent furnaces at 1,400° Celsius is a unique feeling.

You only see hands and breath at work here. There is no technology involved, but only a man with his great art and manual skills...

It all starts with a phone call. I tell Aristide about our new book, and the idea of making a glass mannequin to be photographed for the pages of BlueTailoring, which would be dressed with forty-five outfits during the book presentation.

Aristide was extremely enthusiastic.

January 29th

Venice is a bit foggy, but the closer we get to Murano, the more the sky clears, and it becomes a splendid sunny day. The water taxi takes us right to his house, where he is waiting for us. We go visit his glass factory together. The places he shows me are full of creative energy, filled with beautiful glass works.

It is exciting to see the work of the master glassmakers transforming an incandescent ball of glass into an objet d’art under Aristide’s guidance.

A long, technically laborious, and meticulous procedure where the talent, precision, and manual skills of the master glass blowers and their assistants are essential.

As soon as I return to my workshop, I send a wooden mannequin to Murano for the proportions they needed to take. I’m happy and curious to see the final result.

Piero ricerca costantemente nuove frontiere creative combinando fantasia, manualità, riscoprendo tecniche antiche potenziandole con le nuove tecnologie. Quando Piero si presenta fisicamente negli Studi Stile, è come vedere, compressa nel suo abbigliamento particolare, la sua azienda, confermando che “Forza Giovane” non solo è il nome dell’azienda ma è anche il suo ethos.

Piero is in a constant quest for new creative frontiers, combining fantasy, handcraft, rediscovering old techniques and enhancing them with new technologies. When Piero shows up in any Studio is like meeting his all company compressed in his look. Forza Giovane (Young Strength in English) is not only the name of the company but also its ethos.

Renato è un amico e grande compagno di viaggio nel mondo della sartoria d’autore.

A Città di Castello la sua DKS si è specializzata nella produzione di pantaloni sartoriali di altissima manifattura.

Con la nostra confidenza mi permetto di metterlo in difficoltà chiedendogli con telefonate improvvise di realizzare dei prototipi di pantaloni da un giorno per l’altro… Lui matematicamente mi risponde sempre che è impossibile… poi il No categorico diventa un Forse e poi... “Stefano, porca misera, te lo faccio... ma è l’ultima volta! OK?... Lasciami parlare con Filomena e le faccio mettere a posto il cartamodello”. E poi Renato sorridendo mi dice: “Domani sera spediamo... Dove da te in Studio o a Roma?” E alla fine, altrettanto matematicamente, il giorno dopo ho in mano il mio progetto realizzato con la massima qualità.

Renato is a friend and great travel companion in the world of high end sartorialism.

In Città di Castello, his company DKS is specialized in producing bespoke trousers of the highest manufacturing standards. With our familiarity I always catch him by surprise with unexpected calls to ask him for trousers’ prototypes in no time… He mathematically always says it’s impossible. Then the No becomes a Maybe.. and then... “Stefano, for God’s sake! I’ll do it! But it’s the last time, OK?... Let me talk with Filomena to fix the pattern”. And then with a smile he goes: “We’ll ship tomorrow. Where to? At your Studio or in Rome?”

In the end – as mathematicallythe next day I have in my hands my project realized in the finest quality.
