This year has been a special one for us. Accor Vacation Club marked its 25th anniversary, a milestone that reminds us of how we have redefined extraordinary together over the last quarter-century.
In this edition, we take a walk down memory lane through the waypoints of our story, reflect on our growth together over the past 25 years, and highlight Member Moments that celebrate the joy of holidays.
We also turn our attention to what has happened during the year – taking a peek at our team’s recently completed refurbishment projects at The Sebel Melbourne Flinders Lane, The Sebel Palm Cove Coral Coast, Coral Coast Resort Palm Cove, The Sebel The Vines, and The Sebel Busselton. We are excited to welcome you to these refreshed properties soon and show you the difference!

We reveal details of a newly launched benefit, Club Connect, which gives eligible members access to resorts in other Accor Vacation Club-branded clubs. The Sebel Palm Cove and Coral Coast Resort apartments have undergone a $4.7 million refurbishment. The Sebel Palm Cove’s 37 apartments now feature an energetic palette of white, tan, and blue – inspired by the Great Barrier Reef and World Heritage rainforests. The apartments have been refreshed with new artwork, feature walls, carpets, dining settings, bedheads, lounge suites, outdoor furniture and kitchen appliances.
The 20 Accor Vacation Club apartments at Coral Coast showcase a softer white, tan and olive palette, with updated kitchens featuring splashbacks and stone benches, plus all-new furniture, artwork and window dressings. Members at The Sebel Palm Cove can enjoy lagoon pools and direct beach access, while Coral Coast guests have access to Ocean Edge Health Club’s 25-metre lap pool, gym and sauna.
The Sebel Busselton’s $6.1 million refurbishment brings a coastal-inspired design to its 59 club apartments, reception, lounge, and new poolside pizzeria. Inspired by the stunning coastal location and iconic Busselton Jetty, it introduces sandy brown and ocean blue interiors, updated appliances including smart TVs and Nespresso machines, modern kitchens with stone benchtops and splashbacks, and new balcony furniture for outdoor dining. Studio, two- and three-bedroom apartments feature renewed carpets, window treatments, living areas, and bathrooms, while public spaces now include stylish lounge seating and modern pod-style reception desks. Nestled near Geographe Bay, the resort offers indoor and outdoor pools, tennis and squash courts, a gym, games room, kids’ playroom, and complimentary bike hire.
Grand Mercure Basildene Manor has been ranked among the top boutique hotels and resorts in Australia according to Tripadvisor, earning a five-star rating from more than 1,200 guest stays. The 19-apartment resort sits on 14 acres of beautiful gardens and offers luxurious suites, complimentary Wi-Fi, a heated outdoor pool, tennis court, barbecue facilities, a fireside reading room, and a conservatory.
Built in 1912 as a private residence, the Margaret River property is renowned for its heritage, including an oak grown from an acorn sourced from Buckingham Palace. It also offers thoughtful touches like a pillow menu and a gift of fresh-baked scones with local homemade jam.
The Sebel Swan Valley The Vines has unveiled a $3 million transformation, inspired by the beauty of Swan Valley’s natural landscape. Apartments now feature warm earthy tones, bespoke artworks celebrating the region’s winemaking heritage, and natural finishes of stone and timber that reflect the valley’s landscapes. Members can also enjoy an outdoor pool, heated spa, gym, tennis and squash courts, four restaurants and bars, and easy access to championship golf courses.
The Sebel Melbourne Flinders Lane completed a $5.1 million refurbishment across all 56 units and public areas, introducing a “contemporary urban chic” palette with lighter beiges and tans in living spaces and charcoal greys in bathrooms. Each suite now features new furniture, soft furnishings, lighting and upgraded bathroom fittings, while corridors, reception and the guest lounge were refreshed with new carpet, artworks and a reconfigured check-in area complete with an electric fireplace. The upgrade is designed to suit city lifestyles, reinforcing the hotel as a stylish inner-city option.

Widespread panic about the Y2K Bug never came to fruition.
Accor Vacation Club was launched on the Gold Coast, signalling a major change in the way Australians vacationed.
It was the year of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games (with the US winning the most medals, Russia coming second and China third. Australia put on a mighty effort to place fourth and take home 58 medals.
South Australian scientists cloned a sheep named Matilda.
The GST was introduced in Australia.
Mission Impossible: II was the highestgrossing film of the year.
It’s been a big quarter-century. We kicked off Accor Vacation Club with plenty of enthusiasm and fanfare in 2000, expanded with new destinations and benefits as we matured, and faced down challenges like the financial crisis and COVID-19 together.
And we have really only just begun! Accor Vacation Club runs until 2080, meaning you genuinely can look forward to holidays of a lifetime, for a lifetime. The journey continues – but, today, we take a closer look at some of the important milestones and achievements so far during our time together.

The Accor business began with the launch of a first hotel in France. Co-founders Paul Dubrule and Gerard Pelisson launched the Novotel Lille as the genesis of a standardised hotel chain, offering private bathrooms, room service and an onsite pool. The group expanded to Australia in 1991.
Accor started a vacation ownership club of its own in Australia, as a joint venture with a Melbourne-based developer called Becton.
Selling of interests in Accor Vacation Club began in earnest. The first preview centre opened at what is now the Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach (previously Grand Mercure Broadbeach). Do you remember that site?
Accor Vacation Club expanded to New Zealand with the acquisition of apartments at Hotel St Moritz Queenstown.
In Australia, the club also acquired interests in Twin Waters on the Sunshine Coast, Pacific Bay Resort at Coffs Harbour and Lake Crackenback Resort in Jindabyne.
2004
Accor Vacation Club acquired The Sebel Melbourne Flinders Lane, a boutique property located in the heart of the city’s CBD. This was the first property managed by the club’s own resort operations team and marked a slight change in approach from the club.
The club also launched Turtle Beach Resort Mermaid Beach, Accor Vacation Club Apartments; Mantra Legends Surfers Paradise, Accor Vacation Club Apartments; and The Sebel Darling Harbour The Pinnacle
2006
It was another huge year of growth within Accor Vacation Club, with the addition of seven new properties:
• Peppers Hunter Valley (previously Grand Mercure The Vintage, Accor Vacation Club Apartments), in the New South Wales Hunter region
• The Sebel Creswick Forest Resort, northwest of Melbourne
• The Sebel Pinnacle Valley Resort, in Victoria’s High Country region
• The club’s first resorts in Western Australia, The Sebel Busselton and the Grand Mercure Basildene Manor
• Accor Vacation Club apartments in Oakridge Resort in Wanaka, New Zealand
• To cap it all off, the club added and began managing Grand Mercure Puka Park, in the Coromandel Coast region of New Zealand
At the same time, Accor Asia Pacific bought out its joint venture partner, the Becton Property Group, to develop Accor Vacation Club solo.

This year took Accor Vacation Club to new horizons: South Australia and Indonesia! The club made available to members apartments at The Links Lady Bay, just outside of Adelaide, and Novotel Nusa Dua in Bali.
The club also acquired its third property in Western Australia, The Sebel Swan Valley The Vines, giving members access to the picturesque Swan Valley.
Accor Vacation Club expanded to the New South Wales South Coast region, with the addition of The Sebel Bowral Heritage Park, another club-managed property. Another option was also added on the Gold Coast: Freshwater Point Resort Broadbeach, Accor Vacation Club Apartments
At Accor Vacation Club headquarters, present CEO Craig Wood took the reins and began improving the Accor Vacation Club experience across the board. Meanwhile, Accor developed and launched its worldwide hotel loyalty program, now called ALL (Accor Live Limitless).
The club headed north in 2009 and acquired The Sebel Palm Cove in Tropical North Queensland, which became another club-managed property.
2015
The club expanded its interests in North Queensland’s Palm Cove, with the acquisition of inventory in the nearby Coral Coast Resort Palm Cove. Meanwhile, Accor Advantage Plus rebranded to ALL Accor+.

The club expanded beachfront in Sydney, acquiring an enviable spot right on Manly Beach! Peppers Manly Beach (previously The Sebel Sydney Manly Beach) has been a popular property with Accor Vacation Club members since.
The club went back to the Gold Coast with the acquisition of apartments in Mercure Gold Coast Resort, nestled on the fringes of Palm Meadows Golf Course.
Accor Vacation Club launched its own travel agency, Accor Vacation Club Travel, exclusively servicing the travel needs of club members.
Accor Vacation Club and its members worked together to overcome one of the greatest challenges ever facing hospitality and travel: COVID-19. Thank you to our members for their patience with our operations and member services teams – your support will not be forgotten!
2024 – Travel + Leisure Co., the world’s leader in vacation ownership with more than 800,000 owner families, purchases the development rights to Accor Vacation Club. The developer committed to the expansion of Accor Vacation Club and endeavoured to provide additional benefits to expand the options of members.

Hi, I am Sandy Crothers and I’ve been the General Manager at The Sebel Busselton for eight years now. What I truly enjoy most in my role is helping create memorable experiences for our members and working alongside a dedicated team passionate about hospitality. There’s something special about being part of a place that showcases the beauty of the southwest coast. Every day is different which keeps the job interesting.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends, going for beach walks, cooking and enjoying the local wines.
I love The Sebel Busselton for its stunning coastal setting and relaxed atmosphere. Recently, we completed a refurbishment of our apartments, reception, onsite lounge, and pizza café.

I’ve been General Manager of Grand Mercure Puka Park since May 2024. My mornings begin with a stroll through our lush 25-acre native bush grounds, connecting with team members and ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable stay. Throughout the day, I collaborate with staff across the resort to keep everything running smoothly.
What I love most about our resort is its unique blend of luxury and nature. Our 48 spacious chalets are nestled within lush native bushland, this tranquil retreat boasts beautiful bush views and a rich variety of birdlife, providing a peaceful sanctuary where you can relax, recharge, and immerse yourself in nature. I like to say that this is the perfect location to detox from the normal day-to-day hustle and bustle. For a peaceful escape, I highly recommend indulging in a spa treatment, taking a refreshing swim in our heated outdoor pool, or savouring the delicious Pacific Rim flavours with a modern European twist at our award-winning Miha Restaurant. If you prefer to stay active, you can work out in our fitness centre, play tennis on our court, or enjoy a round at the nearby 18-hole golf course set in stunning scenery. Just a short 600 metres away is Pauanui Beach, and nearby you’ll find hiking trails, Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach, famous for its natural warm pools.

TDay 1: Ease into resort life. Take a dip in the pool, play a game of tennis, or hit the fairways. For dinner, Muscats Restaurant serves refined seasonal cuisine, perfect with a local drop.
Day 2: Call into Sandalford or Mandoon Estate for wine, then satisfy your sweet tooth at Whistler’s Chocolate Company. Return to the resort for a sunset cocktail at The Vines Café & Bar.
Day 3: Spend an afternoon on a Kangaroo Safari on the fairways of the Vines Resort’s prestigious golf course. You will get up close with the roos that roam the resort and finish with a sunset drink and a round of mini golf. Fun for the whole family!
Day 4: The Swan Valley is the closest vineyard to Perth, just over half an hour away, so head to the city. Stroll through Kings Park, have lunch at Elizabeth Quay, and check out WA Museum Boola Bardip.
Day 5: Wildlife encounters await at Caversham Wildlife Park, where you can meet kangaroos, feed penguins, and cuddle a koala. Back at The Sebel, relax by the pool before dinner.
he Swan Valley is Western Australia’s oldest wine region and blends gourmet delights with natural beauty. Base yourself at The Sebel Swan Valley The Vines, where apartment-style living meets resort facilities, including a championship golf course, tennis courts, pool and on-site dining. Here’s how to spend a glorious week. Fun
Day 6: Walk the scenic trails at Walyunga National Park (especially beautiful during wildflower season) then enjoy lunch and a gin tasting at Old Young’s Distillery. Reward yourself for all that activity with a treatment at the award-winning Keishi Spa at Novotel Vines Resort.
Day 7: Spend your final morning at the weekend markets or picking up gourmet produce from local farms. Return to the resort for a farewell glass of Swan Valley wine before heading home.
Dua is where travellers discover Bali at its most refined.
Base yourself at Novotel Bali Nusa Dua, where a complimentary shuttle whisks you in under three minutes to the newly redesigned Novotel Beach Club – an exclusive beachfront haven with panoramic ocean views, live entertainment and a menu blending international favourites with Balinese flair. From sunrise coffees to sunset cocktails, it’s the perfect backdrop for family fun, time with friends or a touch of romance.
Day 1: Ease into island life at Novotel Beach Club. Claim a cabana, savour a seafood platter, and let the sound of waves set the pace for the week. Look out for their BBQ Beach Nights, with fire show and live music for something truly special.
Day 2: Discover over 600 artworks from Pacific Ocean cultures at the Pasifika Museum, which boasts works by the likes of Matisse and Gauguin. Return to the resort for a swim and a relaxed dinner at The Square.
Day 3: Head to Waterblow, where the ocean dramatically collides with limestone cliffs and waves reach up to 8 metres high. Dine at Bumbu Bali, famed for authentic Balinese flavours where traditional dancers provide an insight into Balinese culture.
Day 4: A day of wellness. Begin with sunrise yoga on the beach, indulge in a Balinese massage at the In Balance Spa, and end with a romantic dinner under the stars at the Beach Club.
Day 5: Adventure to Uluwatu Temple for a mesmerising cliffside Kecak fire dance. En route back,
stop at Sundara Jimbaran for a seafood feast on the sand at sunset.
Day 6: Family day at Devdan Show in the Nusa Dua Theatre, where traditional Indonesian stories are told through acrobatics, music and theatre. Complete your local adventure at Bebek Bengil for their famous crispy duck.
Day 7: Spend your last morning shopping at nearby Bali Collection, an open-air mall with clothing, jewellery and souvenir stores, alongside diverse dining options. There are regular free shuttles from the Novotel. Once your bags are full, make time for a farewell cocktail back at the Beach Club, overlooking the Indian Ocean.

In Q3 and Q4 2025, Wishes is supporting the Making Waves Foundation, which transforms the lives of young Australians with disabilities or social disadvantages through empowering sailing programs. Activities are designed to create safe, inclusive environments where participants build confidence, teamwork, and resilience.

We recently announced some exciting changes to enhance what you can do with your membership!
minimum night stay, however, a two-night minimum stay is required if either a Friday or Saturday is included in the booking (unless only one night is available)
A “Gap Booking” is where the booking is less than seven nights but fills up a gap between existing bookings in a club apartment.
The changes:
Reduce the number of windows to remember
• Permit all owners to make earlier reservations under seven nights
Allow greater flexibility
A Weekend-Only Reservation is a two-night booking where at least one night is a Friday or Saturday night. Members can only have the following number of Weekend-Only Reservations per membership at any one time:
This Weekend-Only Reservation system replaces the previous system, where weekend reservations could only be made 45 days out.
Members who book to the extent of the 12-month window and then amend the booking to create a later book-in date will now have to cancel the booking in full and wait 48 hours before making a new booking.
This ‘loophole’ had been previously used by some members to secure a check-in date beyond what the 12-month window would have permitted at the time the reservation was made. This change ensures that the system remains fair for all and reduces intentional inventory banking.
Traveller members and above who have joined the Lifestyle+ program can now make bookings in inventory held by other Accor Vacation Clubs – at present, Accor Vacation Club Asia Pacific and Accor Vacation Club Asia.
A team will monitor the exchange activity taking place through the intra-club agreement and will adjust the number of members able to access the exchange and the inventory available, depending on demand, in order to achieve a long-term balance between the clubs.
As Club Connect is a Developer benefit, it can be adjusted or removed at any point in time.
