SWO Nation, We don’t want anyone to ever be confused about why we exist. Our mission is, “to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the exposition of Scripture and personal relationships in order to equip the Church to impact this generation”. For us this is more than just a mission statement to put on our website, this is the message that fuels everything that we do at SWO. We are a ministry that is intentionally driven by the Gospel of Jesus Christ because we believe that this is the message that will change lives for eternity. In light of this we want to use every resource at our disposal with a single minded, laser focus towards applying the Gospel in every conceivable opportunity. We want it to genuinely guide the way we lead our staff and the way we interact with students, student pastors, and the men and women that attend our adult conferences. Regardless of what is going on in the world around us, we are committed with God’s help to continue to be faithful to the calling that He has placed on us to make disciples until He returns or calls us home.

• Investing in our Staff: We stay connected to our staff through discipleship groups we call, fire teams & community groups. This allows us to spend one-on-one time daily to teach foundational Biblical truths and develop strategic leadership skills so that whether they stay long term at SWO or enter the workforce or mission field they will be prepared to be salt and light in this culture. Theological Training: We created the SWO Institute, a Biblical and theological college accredited class. These classes meet in-person at camp and are led by a team of qualified professors. This gives our Institute students the opportunity to grow in Biblical knowledge while getting hands-on experience in ministry. • Campers: We offer summer camp and year-round conferences for students with the main focus being Biblical preaching and teaching. We also have a wide range of high-adventure recreation from water sports to winter sports depending on the season. We have learned that shared experiences are a great way to develop relationships. The goal behind our recreation is that students have such great high adrenaline experiences they forget about all the things going on in life. Because relationships have a high value to us, we keep a low staff to student ratio (about 1 staff for every 5 students) so that we can effectively have in depth conversations about the sermons in our share groups. • Leaders in student ministry: We offer student leaders specific break-outs during each of our summer camp sessions. Iron on Iron, a free conference, builds the foundation for a strategic approach to not only equipping students but also student pastors and those working in student ministry. We have an in-depth archive of content from past sermons, break-out sessions, and podcasts that range from studies on books of the Bible to culture topics with a Christian worldview.

Over the years, Snowbird has grown to a 532-person housing capacity, serving nearly 11,000 annually. Snowbird operates with a 50-member year-round staff with an additional 120 college-age adults to serve as small group leaders and recreational staff during the summer.

Every year, students and leaders come from 16 states and drive thousands of miles to a backroad in Andrews, NC. Our focus while these students are at SWO is to proclaim andpoint them to our only hope, the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the last decade, over 70,000 students have heard the Gospel in sermons and in small group settings. We have discipled dozens of staff families that have left SWO to go to the mission field.

The gospel changes everything and together we can take that good news to more students.

Our vision is not just about property, it’s about people. It is about creating disciples and making an impact that echos for generations. Our goal is to have an annual attendance of 20k by 2027 to see this come to fruition. Our calling is to steward our gifts from God obediently. Our conviction is to take everything we have and reach everyone we can reach.
