“

I CONTINUE TO CONNECT WITH THIS TEAMMATE AND PROVIDE ENCOURAGEMENT.

HOPE IN THE MIDST OF LONELINESS I reached out to a teammate because I could tell he was struggling. In our conversation, he confirmed that he was in a very dark place. He has been struggling with feelings of loneliness and loss, which was exacerbated by personal tragedies going back to the pandemic. He is a single father who relocated for a relationship that didn’t end up working out. Now he claims to not have any real connections with anyone local, other than his delivery supervisors. He told me about the local church he attends, where I know the connections pastor. I encouraged the teammate to reach out to him. In an effort to provide him support for any mental health concerns he has, I encouraged him to sign up for counseling assistance through Magellan. I continue to connect with this teammate and provide encouragement.

“

THE TEAMMATE GAVE ME PERMISSION TO PRAY AND WE ALL PRAYED TOGETHER. THEN I STAYED TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WENT WELL AND ENSURE HE MADE IT HOME.

CARE DURING PHYSICAL TRIALS A teammate who had to undergo a heart procedure asked me if I would come to the hospital. I made sure that I got there before he went back to pre-op, and I was able to meet his family. The teammate gave me permission to pray and we all prayed together. Then I stayed to make sure everything went well and ensure that he made it home safely. After this experience the teammate’s family became fans of chaplaincy and wish they worked somewhere that provided such care for them, like Coca-Cola Consolidated provides to their teammates.
