Formerly known as Jones Creek Park, this historic park was renamed to honor Susie King Taylor, who is known for being the first African American nurse during the Civil War.
This cozy park features a ½ mile walking trail that wraps around a fishing pond, a playground, picnic table seating and charcoal grills.
Located next to Halfmoon Marina, this park features stunning views of the intracoastal waterway, perfect for watching boats along the water or taking a sunset walk.

Immerse yourself in our county’s history by exploring our array of unique museums! From a historic military installation to an African-American heritage center, there are plenty of sites to see and experience.

Known as Georgia’s only colonial museum, this site allows visitors to step back in time by exploring a reproduction of an 18th-century plantation cottage, the Midway Church, which was built in 1792 and a 2-acre cemetery.
Built in 1892, this jail is one of Hinesville’s earliest brick structures and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
This museum is one of 11 stops on the U.S. Civil Rights Trail in Georgia and originally served as a school for African American students from 18691940 before transforming into a museum.



Located at Fort Stewart, this military museum features over 5,000 objects from aircraft to uniforms in its collection, along with an interactive gallery.

This local organization of fellow artists hosts rotating exhibits and tours at the Old Liberty County Jail, transforming the historic site into an art gallery.


As Liberty’s first public work of art, you’ll see a colorful depiction of a Live Oak tree covered in Spanish Moss, a symbol of our county’s scenic beauty.
Uncover the mystery behind the beloved tree spirits, which can be found along Barrington Ferry Road. No one knows the meaning behind these curiosities, but you’ll find faces amongst the oak trees in this area.

Shot by Executive Producers Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg, you’ll recognize the interior of Dorchester Presbyterian Church from this incredible musical.


Following a tale of forbidden love, this American Drama was filmed by Tyler Perry and his crew at the beautiful and historic Bacon Fraser House.
This iconic action movie set in the Roaring 20s was written and directed by Ben Affleck, partially filmed on his private property on Hampton Island.
