A Word from the Pirate Principal Greetings Pirate Community, As we conclude the first quarter of the school year, we reflect on the challenges and triumphs that have defined our journey so far. Despite facing the impact of two hurricanes, our Pirate community has shown incredible resilience and unity. Celebrations and Achievements: Artistic Excellence: We are thrilled to announce that 20 of our students’ artworks have been selected for display at the All-County K-12 Art Exhibition! This achievement showcases the immense talent and creativity of our young artists, and we couldn’t be prouder. Athletic Accomplishments: • Volleyball: Our volleyball team has shown outstanding teamwork and determination, recently earning the recognition as District Runners Up. Congratulations to our athletes for their hard work! • Marching Band: The Marching Band secured 4th place at the Lakewood Ranch Marching Band Competition, demonstrating their dedication and musical talent. • Boys Bowling: Our boy’s bowling team is currently placed 4th in the county, continuing to impress with their skills and sportsmanship. • Football: The football team is having a winning season and is currently ranked 2nd in their district! Their hard work and commitment are truly paying off. Community Support: Throughout the quarter, we witnessed incredible support from our families and local organizations. Many community members stepped up to assist those affected by the hurricanes, providing shelter, supplies, and emotional support. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our recovery efforts. Looking Ahead: As we move into the next quarter, we remain focused on supporting our students and families. We have exciting events planned current and former Pirates. On November 8th the Pirates Athletic Hall of Fame (PAHOF) will induct five new members. Please visit the. PAHOF page on the BCHS website (https://www.pcsb.org/bocaciega-hs) for additional information. Together, we will continue to strengthen our community and create a positive environment for all. Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to The Boca Ciega High School. Let’s keep the momentum going as we look forward to more achievements together! Go Pirates! Jennifer Gil
