What are you expecting from God today? It is a simple question, yet one that reveals much about the posture of our hearts towards God. Expectation is more than wishful thinking; it is the confident anticipation that God is both willing and able to fulfil His promises. Every great story of faith in scripture begins with someone who dared to look beyond present circumstances and hold firmly to a future shaped by God's word. The Bible consistently presents expectation as something God responds to and honours. Proverbs 23:18 assures us that the expectation of the righteous shall not be cut off, while Psalm 62:5 reminds us to anchor our expectation in God alone. Genuine expectation shifts our focus from human limitations to divine possibilities. It declares that our confidence does not rest in our abilities, resources or connections but in the God who knows the end from the beginning and remains faithful to His word. Expectation is also a powerful expression of faith. When we cultivate a clear vision of what we are believing God for, we give Him something to work with. His plans are to give you a future you hope for (Jeremiah 29:11). Hannah carried the expectation of a child long before Samuel was born. Joseph held onto the dream God had shown him despite years of setbacks and uncertainty. These stories remind us that expectation creates room for divine intervention. It keeps us praying, believing and persevering when circumstances seem to suggest otherwise. Faith does not deny reality; it simply refuses to allow present challenges to have the final say. Yet expectation requires patience and trust. It is possible to become discouraged when answers seem delayed or when life's journey takes unexpected turns. But faith-filled expectation enables us to rest in God's timing, confident that He is working even when we cannot see it. It teaches us to remain steadfast, holding firmly to the promises God has spoken over our lives and refusing to surrender our hope. Those who seek Him wholeheartedly will never be disappointed, for He is able to turn situations around in ways we could never imagine. As you read on, we invite you to reflect on the future you hope for, shaped by the precious promises you are holding before God. May the messages in the articles and testimonies that follow strengthen your faith, renew your confidence in His Word and stir fresh expectation in your heart. Remember, expectation is the breeding ground for miracles. Trust in Godʼs faithfulness. May your expectation of His goodness create room for Him to move in ways beyond what you can ask, think or imagine. PASTOR’S DESK
KNOW YOUR NEIGHBOURS “…who is my neighbour?” (Luke 10:29). This question was paused to Jesus more than two millennia ago by a lawyer whom Jesus commended for his correct understanding of the two most important commandments. In response to the question, Jesus told a parable that many of us know today as the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37). The message from the parable is simple: your neighbour isnʼt always the person who is living closest to you but one who is available to offer a helping hand in times of need. The church has picked this message relatively well. Today we go out of our way to minister to strangers regardless of our social ties with them. What many in church however do not know well is that the answer to the question of “who is my neighbour” goes beyond those who offer us a helping hand. It extends to the dimension of mental neighbourhood. Your mental neighbours are the people you grant attention in your mind. By granting them your attention, youʼve welcomed them into your mental space (or compound for that matter). Every time you dwell on the thoughts of another person – their words, example or experience – you grant that person neigbourhood rights in your mind, and you develop a bond with them. This is what the business philosopher Jim Rohn pointed to in the now famous phrase that he coined: "you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with". In the words of the Bible, “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” (Proverbs 13:20). Elsewhere, the Bible says, “Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprive good manners and morals and character.” (1 Corinthians 15:33, AMPC). So, who are your mental neighbours? What books are you reading? What videos are you watching and what audios are you listening to. Many times, these neighbours influence you more than the people who are physically nearest to you. The good news is that you can do something about your mental neighbours faster and easier than you can with your physical neighbours. For a start, check and confirm if God is your mental neighbour. If Heʼs not, reach out and invite Him into your mental neighbourhood. It is simple: start by following a daily Bible reading plan, beginning with the New Testament, especially from the book of Acts to Jude. Next, find trusted Bible teachings you can listen to or watch online – faith teachings that point you to who you are in Christ, what you have in Him and what you can do in Him. Add to that, the life lessons and experience of those who have walked the paths you are walking today, reached the heights you are now climbing and covered the ground you are cultivating today. In other words, “…Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith.” (Hebrews 13:7, NLT). Sooner or later, your stories will have a common sound – the sound of victory. ~Pastor Joseph Enyimu

LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND “This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:3-4 (NIV) In the US Marines, there is a statement they use: “Leave no one behind." It is a pledge that they will do everything possible to rescue one of their soldiers or individuals if they become trapped or injured on the battlefield. Just recently, we witnessed and heard about this reality unfolding before us in April 2026. One of the US F-15E fighter jets was shot down in Iran, this time behind enemy lines. The two pilots both survived. One was rescued on the first day, while the second took approximately two days to be rescued. The pilot was injured, hungry, and being pursued by the opposing forces, with a bounty on his head for whoever discovered him alive. He had to activate a beacon signal to help his country track him down. This was going to be a dangerous rescue mission. According to the US President, 155 aircrafts were involved in the rescue mission, including four bombers, 64 fighters, 48 refuelling tankers, 13 rescue aircraft, and more. Mehn! That was a very expensive rescue mission for only one man. But did you know that when it comes to the greatest rescue in human history, the operation was conversely even more expensive. To put it another way, humanity's salvation involved God sending one man to redeem all of creation: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16, NIV). We are not talking about people who deserved to be saved, but rather those whom God chose to save out of great love. He did this to restore what was lost and bring the lost back into fellowship. This wasn't a physical rescue involving human machinery, armies, chariots, horses, etc., as the religious people of Jesus' time and Jews then expected (even till today) their rescue to occur by a messiah with military might, power, and authority. So, they handed Him over to the enemy to be executed. They had no idea that doing so, would lead to the ultimate rescue. In Revelation 1:18, He declares, "I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and hades. That means that whatever held us captive has been defeated. Satan has been defeated. Death has been disdained. Life has been sanctioned. Jesus laid down His life so that all humanity could receive and have life through His resurrection. This pleased the Father. According to Jesus, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13). This is what Jesus did to ensure that no man who believes in Him dies. And we now have the honour of doing the same. How? By laying down our lives and praying for men in authority, kings and unsaved people. And by stewarding well what has been entrusted to us wherever we have been deployed to serve, so that men may come to know Christ. The Church is the Lord's army on earth, proclaiming Christ as the hope of glory. It is God's will that all men be saved and that no one should remain a prisoner of death, but it is up to each individual to allow themselves to be rescued.

Testimonies
Kawempe, Tula | Joy tells of the Lord's victory. Her family was involved in a court battle over their ancestral land for the last 24 years. The case was closed in 2025, and it ended in her favour. Her accusers however reopened it and filed an appeal with the high court. This process dragged on for months. She checked with the court several times and then decided to rest in the Lord and hope for a positive outcome. In the meantime, she found comfort in the scriptures as she waited out this process. Early this year, the opponents' appeal was rejected. She rejoices in the Lord who has stood with her and fought this battle to the end.
Nakawa, Luzira | Nerry and his daughter were travelling to their country home late in the evening. The drive was smooth until their vehicle was involved in a collision they didnʼt see coming. Suddenly, their car was hit, and before they could react, airbags emerged from the vehicle and shielded them from the impact. When the daughter got out of the car, they discovered they had collided with a cow, which later moved into the bushes. Except for the shock, he and his daughter were uninjured save for minor bruises. The people around the area were helpful, pushing the car to safety, where it stayed for the rest of the night. Nerry is grateful to God for His divine protection.

MEDITATE New beginnings, new month… They just bring with them a fresh breath of hope! I love how Paul talks about looking forward and not at whatʼs left behind. “Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, I pursue as my goal the prize promised by Godʼs heavenly call in Christ Jesus. Therefore, all who are mature should think this way. And if you think differently about anything, God will reveal this also to you.” (Philippians 3:13-15, HCSB) What has passed is past. There is no going back. Yes, we can consider all we have left behind this year so far, whether success or failure, whether good health or illness, whether gains or losses, but there is no going back. Itʼs time for a new beginning! In Jesus, there is always hope! No matter what our background, our failures, our regrets…if we have a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus, there is always hope ahead…just around the bend! “So I run with purpose every step of the way. I am not just shadowboxing.” 1 Corinthians 9:26 NLT
