TODD S. ADAMS July 22, 1956 - November 6, 2025
A member of the fourth generation of the Adams family, Todd dedicated over four decades to the bank, guiding the institution with wisdom, compassion, and unwavering commitment. Under his leadership, the bank grew from $110 million in assets to over $1 billion, a testament to his strategic vision and deep understanding of community banking. Todd’s personal and professional accomplishments were extensive. He led a life dedicated to service – serving his country, community, and customers. His personal investment in the growth of others left a lasting impact on countless colleagues and community members. Todd was born on July 22, 1956, in Lincoln, NE, and welcomed into the loving family of Mel and Huberta Adams. He graduated from Ogallala High School with the class of 1974. While in college at the University of Nebraska, he participated in Army ROTC, was a Distinguished Military Student, and was the Distinguished Military Graduate. While in college, Todd met the love of his life, Kandace (Kandy) Kampfe, and they were married on June 2, 1979. To this union were born four wonderful daughters, Jennifer, Amanda (Mandy), Melynda, and Sarah. Following graduation in 1978 with a degree in business administration, Todd continued his education, earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska in 1981. Following law school, he worked as a tax accountant and became a Certified Public Accountant. In 1982, Todd was called to active duty. He served at Fort Knox, KY, Fort Bliss, TX, and in Germany as a Tank Platoon Leader and Squadron Adjutant
for an Armored Cavalry Troop. Todd then served for many years in the Army Reserve as a Troop Commander a n d i n s t r u c t o r, ultimately achieving the rank of Major.
In 1985, Todd’s family returned to Ogallala, and he began his banking career at Adams Bank & Trust, and his insurance career with Adams Insurance Advisors. During his entire banking career, he served as a Trust Officer, as well as serving as Cashier and later President and CEO of the bank. He was licensed for all lines of insurance in the State of Nebraska, held a Series 7 security license from the National Association of Security Dealers, was a Chartered Global Management Accountant, and a Personal Financial Specialist. He served on the Nebraska Bankers Association Board of Directors and served on their Political Action Committee for over 20 years. He served two terms as a Board Member of the Omaha Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. In 1990, he and his wife started Office Service, Inc., in Ogallala, and he was involved with property management and land development with his best friend, his brother Chad. Over the decades, Todd generously gave his time, talent, and resources to his church and community. He was a life-long member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, where he taught Adult Sunday School. Todd was a member of the Rotary Club, serving as Club President and District Treasurer. His dedication to Boy Scouts grew from his youth as an active Scout and Eagle Scout Award recipient. He received many local and state awards for his leadership, business acumen, and community support. Todd was laid to rest on Saturday, November 22, 2025, in Ogallala, NE.

CONTINUING AB&T’S LE ADERSHIP TR ADITION

s I look back on over four decades of knowing and working alongside Todd Adams, I’m very grateful. It was a joy and a privilege. Todd set the bar high in all areas, especially as a true servant leader. A brilliant CEO and banker, he was also a deeply humble person who led by example. He always focused on others before himself, from our customers to the bank’s employees to many volunteer causes. Todd approached everything with the highest moral and ethical standards, earning respect in the communities we serve and across the banking industry. He was a generous mentor to me and everyone in our organization. His door was always open. Todd and Chad Adams always shared a vision for the bank. Working together, they created a detailed plan for its future leadership. Todd worked closely with Jessop Adams over the past few years, preparing him to be the next CEO of Adams Bank & Trust. Jessop was appointed to that position at the recent special meeting of the bank’s Board of Directors.
I was hired in 1982 by Mel Adams, Jr., the third generation of the family, so it’s very rewarding to have the opportunity to work with the fifth generation.
As an organization, we look ahead with confidence that the bank will continue its growth and success into the future. Every day, we see the values modeled by previous generations are here in the current generation of Adams family leadership. leadership and is off and running. He is focused, energetic, and highly capable. He is team-centered and leads from the front lines. Jessop brings strong business roots to the table. He has worked closely with the small business community as a Commercial Banker at AB&T, taking an active role in promoting economic development in the communities we serve. Just as Todd and Chad always worked together for the benefit of our customers and organization, Jessop and Mandy have unique areas of expertise and collaborate well. Jessop has a Juris Doctorate with a focus in business and banking law. Mandy has a Master of Professional Accountancy with a strong background in data analysis. Todd always reminded us that if our customers and communities succeed, the bank succeeds.

s we honor the life and legacy of Todd Adams, I’m reflecting on the many ways he inspired me. He greatly influenced my focus on helping people plan for their own legacies.
Educating and helping people was always very important to Todd. In both our organization and our family, he was someone who exemplified that special care and attention to the needs of others. ✔
Estate Planning Essentials: Make sure your family knows where to find documents like your will, durable power of attorney, healthcare power of attorney, medical directive paperwork, and guardianship designations for any minor children.
✔ Official Records & Paperwork: These
can include birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, life insurance policies, bank account statements, retirement account and investment statements, income tax returns, home and other property deeds, and vehicle titles.
✔ Household Responsibilities: Are you
responsible for paying bills and keeping track of financial accounts? Be sure to document important timelines and account information. For many people, the answer to these planning questions is their family. Various faith-based and charitable causes also make the list. Whatever your guiding star or motivation for planning, it’s so important to give these issues some thought. You spend so much time working to build your assets, whether that’s your investments, a business, farm or ranch. Far too many people invest all their efforts in building without stepping back to ask the important questions and make the appropriate plans.

Put together your paperwork. What documents do you need to have in place? Who will handle your affairs if something happens to you? How will your assets be protected and your wishes be honored? Don’t forget to communicate your plans. Sit down and talk with the people you’ve designated to be your representatives. Make sure they understand who you are and why you made the choices you did. Help your beneficiaries understand your estate planning, as well. Spelling things out now can help avoid any infighting or awkwardness at the time of your passing. Just get started. The legacy planning to-do list can seem very daunting, especially if you feel your plans have to be perfect. But it’s better to start the process when and how you can and refine over time. Make a regular review. The end of the year is a good time to review all your documents to make sure they’re updated. Look at how your accounts are titled and make sure your list of beneficiaries is current. Consult your advisors. Check with your attorney and planning professionals to see if there are situations that would be better handled by a trust than a will. It’s important to remember legacies aren’t just financial. They’re also made up of the hours you spend on

JESSOP B. ADAMS CEO
On Thursday, November 6th, Todd S. Adams—our Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board—passed away due to complications related to ALS. Following Todd’s passing, I wanted to personally inform you, our valued customer, about the continuation of our legacy and family leadership before we begin our formal public announcements. Todd represented the bank’s fourth generation of family leadership and dedicated over four decades to Adams Bank & Trust, guiding our institution with wisdom, compassion, and unwavering commitment. Under his leadership, the bank grew from $110 million in assets to over $1.3 billion—a testament to his strategic vision and deep understanding of community banking. His personal and professional accomplishments were extensive. Todd led a life dedicated to service—serving his country, community, and customers. As we honor Todd’s life and contributions, we also want to share that the succession plan he helped design is now in place—a plan fully supported by Todd, our family, and the bank’s leadership team. During a special session held on November 12th, the Board of Directors officially appointed Jessop Adams as Chief Executive Officer of Adams Bank & Trust. Jessop will join Amanda A. Hoover (Mandy), the bank’s Chief Financial Officer and Todd’s daughter, to represent the fifth generation of family leadership. Over the past decade, Jessop and Mandy have immersed themselves in every facet of banking, building strong relationships with our team and customers. We are confident that with the combined dedication and leadership of Jessop and Mandy, Adams Bank & Trust will continue to thrive, honoring Todd’s legacy while embracing new opportunities for growth and innovation. In addition, the Board has appointed me, Chad S. Adams, as Chairman of the Board. Together, Jessop, Mandy, and I will work closely with our leadership team to ensure a seamless transition and continued commitment to the values that define our organization. Todd’s role at Adams Bank & Trust was significant—he always set the bar high for the rest of us. While his passing marks the close of a monumental chapter, it is not the end of our story. Please take comfort in knowing that we remain dedicated to being a family-owned and operated community bank. We are honored to continue our family’s commitment to the future of this organization as we begin this next chapter with the fifth generation of leadership. Thank you for your continued trust and partnership as we move forward together. Chad S. Adams Chairman - Adams Bank & Trust President - ADBANC,INC
