Message from the Chief Executive Officer

Unity, Resilience, and a Strong Start to 2026

As we begin 2026, we do so in a moment that has tested the region but also powerfully reaffirmed the strength, unity, and resilience that define the United Arab Emirates.

In recent weeks, we have witnessed how the UAE has come together leaders, institutions, businesses, and communities standing united under one flag This spirit of solidarity has ensured continuity, stability, and confidence, even amid uncertainty, and reflects the country’s enduring commitment to collective responsibility and progress

For the AmCham Dubai community, this environment has reinforced the importance of partnership and preparedness Across our membership, organizations have remained focused and operational, underscoring the importance of business continuity and the strength of the UAE’s economic foundation.

Against this backdrop, Q1 has been a strong and impactful start to the year

We were proud to support the World Health Expo (WHX) Kickoff Breakfast, convening leaders across the healthcare sector under the theme “Innovating Care, Elevating Outcomes” The Healthcare Heroes initiative provided a meaningful platform to recognize individuals and institutions advancing healthcare excellence across the UAE We extend our appreciation to American Hospital Dubai for their continued partnership and leadership

In collaboration with the US Chamber of Commerce, AmCham Dubai supported the AI Acceleration Business Delegation to the UAE, bringing together senior U.S. business leaders and Emirati stakeholders to explore opportunities across the UAE’s rapidly evolving AI ecosystem

Our ongoing collaboration with the US Mission to the UAE ensured members remained informed through timely briefings focused on security, travel, and operational continuity

Engagement across our committees remained strong, including the HR Committee, Health Sector Committee, Digital Transformation Committee, Sustainability & ESG Committee, American Brands Forum, and the F&B Regulatory Committee each continuing to deliver relevant dialogue, industry insights, and practical value to our members

Importantly, this quarter has also demonstrated the value of adaptive programming. From virtual briefings and targeted roundtables to curated resource sharing, AmCham Dubai has continued to evolve its approach ensuring our members have access to timely information and opportunities to connect, regardless of the operating environment

As we look ahead, our focus remains clear: to support our members, strengthen US–UAE commercial ties, and contribute to the continued resilience and success of the business community in the UAE

Thank you for your continued engagement, trust, and partnership

Security-ledSustainability: How the Gulf Is Reframing the Energy Transition Under Stress

March 16, 2026

The Gulf is defining a global model for what security‐led sustainability looks like in the 21st century—in an era of heightened risk.

Recent regional escalations have underscored a reality that governments and businesses across the Middle East can no longer afford to treat as theoretical: environmental resilience, infrastructure planning and the energy transition are increasingly inseparable from the imperatives of security and continuity.

The region is confronting environmental harm and systemic vulnerability at the same time and the deeper legacy may be the way this moment permanently fuses sustainability, resilience and transformation with national priorities around stability and survival This is not a temporary pivot; it’s an emerging rewrite of the rules that will shape the region’s energy agenda for years to come

The environmental consequences of instability including risks to energy assets, maritime corridors, industrial facilities and water infrastructure are both immediate and enduring The current escalation has brought renewed attention to how quickly environmental harm can cascade when critical infrastructure is disrupted: air quality deterioration from industrial fires, contamination from spills and chemical releases and long–tail impacts on marine and coastal ecosystems. The Strait of Hormuz, as one of the world’s most important energy chokepoints, remains a reminder that a single disruption can raise the specter of catastrophic environmental outcomes alongside global economic shock READ MORE
