REVA University established the School of Performing Arts and Indic Studies (SPA&IS) to deliver holistic, world-class education rooted in India’s rich traditional knowledge systems while aligned with modern academic and professional standards. The school offers Diploma, BAPaEP, MPA, and Ph.D. programs designed to build professional competence, artisticexcellence, critical thinking, and cultural understanding. Alumni Chapter Inaugration
The inaugural Alumni Chapter of the School of Performing Arts & Indic Studies at REVA University was officially launched in Kerala, at the Thrissur Sahithya Academy Changampuzha Hall. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Srinidhi S U, President of the REVA Alumni Association & Prof. Anju Bennie, Chapter Advisor & Admission Co-ordinator. The event also featured a panel discussion on where distinguished alumni shared their experiences and insights, offering valuable perspectives to attendees.An interactive session allowed members to discuss future plans, collaborations, and initiatives aimed at strengthening alumni engagement. Bharatanatyam performance by Roshni Kurup added vibrancy to the event, followed by a high tea.

Dr. Sneha Sasikumar,distinguishedspecialguestandUGCNET coach, led an inspiring and insightful workshop on emerging futureopportunities in the fieldof PerformingArts. A Certificate distribution ceremony to all diploma students followingagroupphotosessionalsoconducted. Mrs.Smitha S (Batchof2021–23)and Ms. Nikitha Mani (Batchof2019–21) were unanimously elected as coordinators for the Kerala Alumni Chapter by the participants. The inauguration concluded on a high note with a vote of thanks by Prof.Anju Bennie, expressing gratitude to all organizers, volunteers,
special guests and participants for their contributions to the event’s success.


The Alumni Talk Series – Kaladhara, organized by the School of Performing Arts & Indic Studies, featured a rich sequenceoflecturesbydistinguishedalumniwhosharedtheir expertise across diverse dimensions of Indian classical dance and performing arts. This initiative aims to strengthen the institution’s community, celebrate artistic achievements, and provide practical guidance and inspiration to the next generation of creators and innovators. Through these talks, alumni not only showcased their individual journeys but also highlighted how their education and experiences at the institution played a pivotal role in shaping their careers and artistic vision. The series serves as a powerful reflection of the strength of the institution's programs, while also showcasing the significant impact its alumni are making on the global stage, both within the arts and beyond.

The series began on 25/03/2025 with Ms. Vacha Shukla, who delivered an interdisciplinary talk on “Critical Analysis of Indian Classical Dance & Laban Movement with Mathematical Geometry Pattern,” offering a detailed explanation of Laban’s effort, space, shape, and body components. This was followed on 01/04/2025 by Ms. Deepa S. Pillai, who presented profound insights into the aesthetics, cultural depth, spiritual significance, and theoretical foundations of Indian classical dance through her lecture on the “Mathematical Interpretation of Angika Abhinaya.” On 06/05/2025, Ms. Vinuta V. Salimath conducted a session titled “From Breath and Brand: Foundations for Sustainable Performing Arts Careers,” emphasizing holistic artistic growth, personal branding, and sustainable career practices. The series continued on 13/05/2025 with Mr. Rahul S.Achary, whose inspirational talk, “Ambition with a Purpose: A Journey through Performing Arts,” highlighted the importance of purposeful ambition and resilience in an artist’s journey. Additionally, Ms. Lalitha Chandramoorthy enriched the series with her session, offering valuable insights drawn from her extensive experience in the performing arts. Together,thesetalkscreatedavibrantplatformforlearning, reflection, and artistic enrichment, strengthening the academic and cultural fabric of the institution.
Alumni Support in Semester-End Examinations

We are grateful to our alumni for their continued involvement in shaping the academic experience of our students. MoumithaSen (MPABatch 2020–2022), Rahul S (2021–2023 batch), and Prathvi Bhat (2020–2022 batch) generously lent their expertise and time as examiners and co-guides during the semester-end examinations. Their contributions not only provided valuable insights but also bridged the gap between past and present students, fostering a sense of community and shared learning. We sincerelyappreciatetheireffortsinsupportingtheacademic journey of our current cohort, and their active role in shaping the future of our institution.
Alumni as Co-guides

Ms.Bushra,analumnafromtheBAPaEP2021-2024batch, was both a co-actor and a mentor for the BA Theatre production, bringing her experience to guide the performance. Ms. Vandya Mahesh, also an alumna, served as the nattuvanar and mentor for the Bharatanatyam concert, helping direct the dancers and providing valuable guidance throughout the process.
Alumni as Faculty: Enriching the Department with Expertise
To strengthen the bond between the institution and its graduates,severaldistinguishedalumnihavereturned to contribute as the faculty. This year, three alumni have joined the faculty in key specializations:
• Mrs. Anju Bennie (MPA Batch 2019–2021) as faculty in Mohiniyattam,
• Ms. Krithika T. U (MPA Batch 2021–2023) as faculty in Bharatanatyam
• Mrs. Aathira A. Varma (MPA Batch 2021–2023) as faculty in Kuchipudi.
