“Here We Go Again”

Country music has a way of letting me know that experiences waltz into my life and “fill up my senses.” My brain goes into repeat mode with the chorus of Dolly Parton's "Here We Go Again" replaying in my head over and over, especially during this time of the year. We are constantly showered with well wishes of a “Happy New Year!” in January as we welcome in the new beginnings. Not only do we look forward to starting a new chapter of our lives, January also allows us to reflect on the last 365 days. Positivity, prosperity, hope, and peace come to the surface of our thoughts. “Here We Go Again” into a year of promise and growth for our communities, the ALL RISE Family, and all the people involved with and affected by the Aaron Judge ALL RISE programs. November 2023 marked the fifth year of the inception of the Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation during which we began to establish and grow our programs. In 2023, we launched our online store and welcomed an Educational Consultant and three Board Members to our team to support our mission and growth. The ALL RISE Marketing Team has stretched into six members. The number of people we impact through our programs continue to rise each year. Every day in the last five years, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to develop connections in our communities to support children and youth who are so vulnerable and in need of positive attention and

guidance. Aaron, Samantha, Wayne, and I are grateful for the support of our ALL RISE team, donors, volunteers, organizations and institutions, mentors, and mini-grant and scholarship recipients, who have encouraged us with their fresh ideas and expertise. Although we come from all walks of life, we are all united in our passion to help youth reach unlimited possibilities. Join me in welcoming our three new Board Members, Samantha Judge, Michael O'Neill, and Vincent Ricchiuti. Their stories, found in this edition and on our website, speak volumes about the the experience and unique perspectives they bring to our team as we continue to reach our goals and objectives. As the ALL RISE team grows, so will our continued efforts to grow our programs and ability to inspire more children. The journey to be a Major League baseball player can be rough. Ten-hour bus rides are grueling, especially for a guy who is 6’7”. You get called up and sent down, with little warning and no control. You have stretches of success but longer ones of failure. Back in 2015, during my AAA season, we were playing on the road in Columbus, Ohio. I went 0 for 13 with 9 strikeouts in a three-game series. I never touched first base. I was sure I would never be called up to the major leagues, certainly not that September. I was sure my dream was over...years of work gone. That following off-season, after guests left my family’s annual holiday party, I sat down on the couch. I was filled with that inner glow that comes after you have been around a group of people who make you feel safe and loved. The evening had been filled with people I had known my entire life and I truly felt safe and happy. I typed into my phone a note that I carry to this day. “Never forget why you play this game. It is for the blessings you have… time with family and friends.” Time. Time is so precious to any baseball player, including myself. There is a lot of upside to my job, but time is something I do not have enough of. To do my job well, I arrive at the ballpark up to 6 hours before game time and leave at least ten hours later. While the official season is only April to September (or hopefully October), I prepare for the next season almost as soon as the current season ends. The time I get with my family is very limited. November and December are often the only time of the year when I can gather and be present with those I love without worrying about where I have to be next. It is all about time. I still gather with my family in the off-season for the holidays. Throughout the year, I look forward to gathering at events with my extended family who supports the ALL RISE mission! I think about our launch last year of #Just5Minutes to help young people feel safe, loved and supported by the adults in their lives. I think about my family gatherings that did just that for me as I grew. If you are reading this, you are a part of that extended family. I am grateful for all those who have given their time to help both the ALL RISE Foundation and the youth in your lives. As we move into 2024, let’s remind ourselves of the blessing of time that we can share with others.

San Joaquin County students were able to attend two Leadership Conferences this past fall. The first was held at Hanford West High School in Hanford, California. The second Leadership Conference, by CADA, was held in Woodland, October 4th, and Fresno, October 16th. Sixty students and four advisors attended. These conferences provide students with opportunities to meet other students leaders and build their leadership and citizenship skills.

What the Students Are Saying About the Woodland Leadership Conference! What I liked about the conference was that it brought in people that I can relate to and made the activities fun. What I can bring back to my school is that you should include everyone, and that you don't know what someone is going through – so don't be rude.” ~ Gavin Riley, 8th Grade What I liked about the conference was the new people I met. The thing I learned during the conference was that you don't know what people are going through until you walk a mile in their shoes. Something that I liked about the conference was that the stations were all different, so they each taught me something new. I liked not being with only kids from my school. Because of this, I made some new friends. I also learned that what I would like to happen over here would be inclusion and more communication, that more people should think about what is going on in other people's lives, and what they are going through.” ~ Emeli Guzman, 8th Grade

Master Classes and the Leadership Library In 2023, our Leadership Master Classes moved into classrooms, with youth hearing from leaders during their school days. These powerful conversations have been added to our Leadership Library so those needing a little dose of inspiration can enjoy them at any time and pick up some valuable insight into how Aaron and other leaders approach day to day problems. Our library is being offered free to educators, to allow them to use these resources to inspire their students when it fits into their lesson plans.

Membership in the Library includes admission to the 2024 Master Classes. 2024 will also see two Master Classes with Aaron and a special guest. Coming on Feb. 8th: Leadership in the Clubhouse featuring Aaron and his special guest Sean Casey, former MLB first baseman and hitting coach. 3

MINI-GRANT RECIPIENT Bronx County, New York Birch Family Services, Inc., empowers people with autism and other developmental disabilities to lead fulfilling lives. Annually, they serve more than 2,000 individuals through 31 program locations throughout New York City. The ALL RISE Mini-Grant will provide funding to hold a Multilingual Disability Resource Fair for the families they serve and other families in the surrounding Bronx community. The Multilingual Disability Resource Fair will enable parents of children with developmental disabilities, who do not speak English in their homes, to feel empowered to advocate for their child’s educational needs. This will be a stepping stone

for students to advocate for themselves once they are old enough to do so. This program will also improve the culture and climate of the school campus by giving students and parents resources to better advocate for their child’s education. Funding will be used to hire translators to attend the event to work with families, translation services for flyers and take-home materials, and training workshops facilitated through the New York State Office of People with Developmental Disabilities.

Welcome Our Newest Board Members Michael O’Neill

Board Member

Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Michael was a scholar athlete throughout high school and college. After attending the University of Michigan on a baseball scholarship, he eventually was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 3rd round of the 2013 draft. Aaron and Michael were teammates and roommates from 2013-2016 until Michael continued his career with the Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Cincinnati Reds through 2019. After this professional baseball career, Michael began his medical sales career. Michael is passionate about ALL RISE and the development of young men and women through literacy, positive social media influence, and athletics to make their respective communities a better place.

Samantha Judge

Board Member

Samantha (Sam) hails from Linden, CA. She earned her Master's degree in Exercise Science from Fresno State University's Department of Kinesiology before pursuing her Ph.D. in Bio-behavioral Science at the University of Florida. Her studies align with her deep passion for working with diverse youth populations. Sam's commitment to inclusivity led her to join the board of Kulture City, which is dedicated to fostering inclusion for those with invisible disabilities. In 2021, Sam married Aaron, Founder of the ALL RISE Foundation. Together, they are deeply engaged in advancing the initiatives and programs of the ALL RISE Foundation. Sam also thrives as an athlete, conquering the 2022 and 2023 New York City Marathon.

Vincent A. Ricchiuti

Board Member

Vincent A. Ricchiuti serves as CEO for P-R Farms, Inc., established over 100 years ago in the heart of California’s San Joaquin Valley. His experience and knowledge gained from his childhood years has enabled Vincent to effectively oversee the ongoing expansion of their operations, which includes ENZO’S TABLE and ENZO Olive Oil Company. Vincent is also a principal in Heritage Development Company based in Fresno, California A 2005 graduate of California State University, Fresno, Vincent is an active member of the community, and highly involved in a variety of organizations. His awareness and business acumen in Fresno County and surrounding areas are highly valued as he works with ALL RISE. In his leisure time, Vincent is an avid sports fan, loves to cook and travel, and spends time with family and friends. 4

ALL RISE was proud to be the Presenting Sponsor of the 2023 Run & Walk Against Hunger, benefiting the Emergency Food Bank of Stockton & San Joaquin. Held on Thanksgiving Day, more than 2,000 people came out early morning to support the popular community event! Winter Wonderland

The Yankees held their 14th Annual Winter Wonderland Holiday Event on Friday, December 15. The event treated approximately 6,000 local youth to a holiday extravaganza complete with holiday decorations, festive music, food and drinks, Santa Claus handing out gifts, and caroling by the Renaissance Youth Center Choir. With over 10,000 presents donated, each child in attendance was able to choose their own holiday gift. All remaining toys and gifts are being donated to Bronx-based organizations. ALL RISE Foundation donated 2,350 Rawlings youth baseball gloves from the Foundation Series. For the sixth consecutive year, the Yankees partnered with Walmart, which provided toys for children in attendance. Additionally, the Yankees thank the All Rise Foundation, Nike and Rawlings for donating sports equipment for children to select at the event. The Yankees also appreciate the support from American Foliage and Legends Hospitality in creating a festive holiday setting.

ALL RISE Founder receives Roberto Clemente Award The Board of Directors and committee members of ALL RISE congratulate founder, Aaron Judge, on being the recipient of the 2023 Roberto Clemente Award. The award is bestowed annually to the player who best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy, and positive contributions, both on and off the field. Aaron was recognized and received the award at Game 3 of the 2023 World Series on October 30, 2023. Aaron’s vision, goals, values, and mission for ALL RISE are aligned with Clemente’s achievements and character that inspired the creation of the Roberto Clemente Award. 6

When asked about receiving the Roberto Clemente Award, Aaron said, “As a player, Roberto Clemente had 3,000 hits, he hit home runs, was a great defender and a complete player. He is someone I try to model my game after. Then, off the field, he had so much compassion and care for every individual. It didn’t matter who you were. You could be the youngest fan, an older fan, or even someone who wasn’t a fan of baseball, and he took time out of his day to make you feel special. The charity work he did, how he touched every single fan, especially the young kids, that’s who you want to be. That’s a big leaguer, that’s a professional. Receiving this award and getting the opportunity to represent Roberto Clemente is one of the greatest honors.”
