SPRING 2021

2020 - WHAT A YEAR! This was a year to navigate a changing world,

and in the midst of it all, the Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation successfully adapted our events and schedules to manage a year like no one could ever imagine. Even during the 2020 world-wide pandemic – our mission statement and passion drove us to stay the course and get creative.

The restrictions established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, brought our in-person events to an end. The time usually spent out of the office turned into creative and productive time in the office. We had the opportunity to focus on the development of our infrastructure, administrative tasks, and protocols. Our business software platforms, to handle our financial and creative needs, became more familiar to us. Our Board of Directors held their first strategic planning meeting, our first internal financial audit to stay in compliance with best practice standards, as well as, thought outside the box to discover new ways to continue our mission both during, and after, the pandemic. We also used this unexpected time to develop a marketing team to expand our base and be strategic in telling our story. We created the Team Report, a quarterly newsletter to keep you up to date on our activities, developed strategies to increase our audience on social media, as well as improve our website. Additionally, we were able to support and provide the opportunity for our Aspiring Leaders to attend virtual youth leadership training events. We also continued our outreach to children and youth in our community - distributing mini-grants to several youth organizations while we were all masked up and

practicing social distancing. The AJARF was also the signature sponsor of the Stockton Emergency Food Bank Walk for Hunger “virtual” event. Even though active fundraising was halted, donations arrived in a steady flow to keep us up and running. Financial support came from Aaron’s business partners, small and large businesses, family, friends, and new friends. The Foundation is thankful for all of this support.

We have missed having one-on-one, face-to-face, and large group activities to inspire children and youth to become responsible citizens. The AJARF used these unfortunate circumstances in 2020 to forge ahead, establishing new initiatives and strengthening our existing programs that allow us to expand into Fresno County, California and Bronx County, New York. Welcome to our family!

We are well into 2021 and still facing restrictions that affect our lives. We will continue to be focused, creative, flexible, and determined to reach as many children and youth as possible. Thank you to our volunteers, donors, Marketing Team, and Board of Directors for helping us get through 2020 and for being on our team. Let’s “hit it out of the park” in 2021 and 2022! Looking Back to Look Forward When I was a kid, Spring Training always seemed like the time when Major League players began to get ready for the new season. Doesn’t Spring Training represent a time to look forward? I know it was for me. I started thinking about my favorite players getting back on the field and imagining what they might be doing. However, the work starts much earlier than that. When I got to the big leagues, I saw Mark Teixeira, Alex Rodriguez, guys with all the awards, working to get better. They were always asking questions so they could learn how to improve and get to the next level. And here I was a rookie, thinking they had it all figured out, and yet thet taught me that you can always hone your craft just a little bit more. The day after my season ends each year, I begin going over everything that happened. The good stuff and the bad stuff. This gives me an outline of what I need to work on. The items that worked, I continue to build on, but the stuff that didn’t go well, like my .179 batting average in my first Major League call-up, are skills that need to be addressed. This is when I add new workouts or new routines to get me ready for the next season. You often hear baseball players talk about turning the page and letting go of what doesn’t work. That is an important skill during the season, but in the off-season, I have to look back. Teams and players are continuing to evolve and develop new game plans and skills. Teams find new ways to defend against me, pitchers refine their pitching strategies to throw it past me, other hitters are learning new batting techniques and it is my responsibility to continue to evolve and upgrade my game to stay ahead of them all. Once the assessment is done, I lay out my off-season workout schedule, so I have everything carefully planned. When I have a schedule prepared, it helps me stay on task and check days off. Without my carefully planned schedule, I will likely skip days and not stay on top of my workouts. With the game plan, I can steadily make progress everyday towards my goals. Setting goals is also important for the Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation and we are pleased that even during a pandemic, the ALL RISE Foundation had a pretty good year. We developed new programs with partners like LivBits, supported many children and youth through our mini-grant programs, and grew our footprint from San Joaquin County, California, to also include Fresno County, California and Bronx, New York. Just like I hope to do this year on the field, the ALL RISE team is continuing to develop and find new ways to adapt to help more of our young people and those that teach and coach them. LEADERSHIP ALL RISE launches Leadership Webinar Series Our newest program, the ALL RISE for Leadership webinar series launched this past January. This virtual event series brings together leaders in different industries to explore the traits that make for great leaders in a variety of settings, including the Clubhouse, the Classroom, the Boardroom, and finally the Digital world. Through insights from these leaders, we hope to inspire our children and youth, and those educating them, to become stronger, more engaged citizens. Aaron and Zack Britton lead us off by digging into leaders in team settings, from youth baseball to their current life. Both players agreed there are multiple leadership styles that work and many things that can drive one to get better. They also expressed that they felt anyone can develop the skills to lead. Jersey Mike’s is a Hall of Famer! In January of 2021, the AJARF received an astonishing donation of $1,000,000.00 from Jersey Mike’s and its founder Peter Cancro! We are beyond grateful for such an extraordinary donation. This gift will enable us to expand our programs and services that directly impact the lives of children and youth. AJARF will now have the opportunity to inspire youth in communities beyond Aaron’s hometown of Linden, reaching out to Aaron’s home away from home, New York, and his college home, Fresno County, California. Donation Broadens Mini-Grant Program In December 2020 Glu Mobile Inc., developer and publisher of the popular mobile game MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2020, teamed up with the Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation (AJARF) to make an impact in local communities. Donating $25,000 to the AJARF Mini-Grant Program, these funds will support activities and programs for children and

youth. “The mission of ALL RISE is to inspire children and youth to become responsible citizens and encourage them to reach unlimited possibilities,” said Aaron Judge, New York Yankees outfielder and Founder of the Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation. “I am thankful to Glu Mobile Inc., for helping support local communities to make a real difference for the kids who need it the most.”

JUDGEIAN BLAST Spring Mini-Grants Available The Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation believes children, youth, and their families in our communities need encouragement, direction, and support from outside their school and family systems. Thanks to our Family of Affiliates, as well as our many sponsors, we have expanded our Mini-Grant program to include Bronx County, NY; Fresno County, CA; San Joaquin County, CA.
