Activity Levels
Easy
Every trip in this catalog is rated by activity level so you can find the right fit before you book. Here’s what each level means:
This is a leisurely paced trip with plenty of time to relax. Most travel is by motorcoach or cruise ship. Guests should be able to board and exit a motorcoach independently, climb one flight of stairs and walk unassisted between parking areas and scheduled activities.
Comfortable
This trip may include walking tours of up to two hours in length typically on level terrains. It may include early morning departures or latenight returns. Climbing multiple flights of stairs, standing for short periods of time, along with moderate altitudes may be necessary.
Moderate Active
Good mobility is required for this trip. Climbing stairs and standing for 2-3 hours at a time, as well as walking on uneven terrain may be necessary. Portions of the itinerary may include higher altitudes. The itinerary may involve longer days up to 12-14 hours in length. This activity level is not recommended for travelers with significant mobility concerns.
This is a fast-paced trip with longer days and shorter periods of time to rest. Longer walking tours up to 3-5 hours in length and over 10,000 steps along varied types of terrain are typical. High-altitude destinations and moderate temperatures may be featured. This trip can include frequent physically challenging activities. This activity level is not recommended for travelers with serious medical conditions.
Strenuous
This trip is very strenuous and vigorously fast paced. Activities may include hiking, biking, kayaking, zip lining or other various strenuous activities. It will combine extreme cold and hot temperature climates with very high altitudes. Participants must be physically fit to fully enjoy all the experiences.
