This thesis titled "The Tree Trail" investigates the social, cultural, and ecological impacts of mature tree translocation. Through case studies, historical analysis, and ecological theories, the research critically examines how the practice of relocating fully-grown trees affects their natural heritage, cultural significance, and ecological relationships. The thesis challenges the notion of tree translocation as a sustainable solution, advocating instead for a deeper understanding of the temporal and ecological processes that trees are part of. This study seeks to inform more adaptive and inclusive approaches to tree translocation, considering both human and non-human agencies.
