The South African National Bioinformatics Institute (SANBI) presents its Annual Report for 2025.
The report highlights the institute's focus on advancing genomic research, regional pathogen surveillance and postgraduate capacity development.
Key achievements include:
• The completion of AGARI (Africa Genome Archiving for Response and Insight), an online platform that enables countries across the continent to share vital genomic data on disease-causing pathogens of concern to Africa and the rest of the world.
• The launch of ADBEX (African Data and Biospecimen Exchange), an online platform that facilitates the ethical and equitable sharing of data and biospecimens generated in Africa.
