The Great Outdoors Security Team The Great Outdoors is proud of its state-of-the-art automated visitor management system. Residents install a barcode on their vehicles which allows them to bypass the visitor’s lane and have instant access to the community. CSA installs a barcode for residents on their vehicles (Community Services Association) and permits them to activate/deactivate barcodes as needed and allows them to verify who enters the resident’s gate. CSA also provides a voice and email automated system for residents to call in infrequent visitors who have not been put on their guest list (usually family members). Todd Sampson is the gate supervisor/manager and coordinates schedules with five other gate personnel to manage our 24-hour gated community. Todd started working with the CSA maintenance crew over 11 years ago, moving over to the Gate Manager position nine years ago after acquiring a degree in criminal justice. Continued on page 36
Blue Heron’s Space Photo Exhibit Titusville has space research in its veins - it is our heritage. The first chapter in space exploration began in July 1950 right here at Cape Canaveral and NASA was formed in 1958. These wall decorations are designed to help TGO keep that heritage forefront. Studying space and the solar system gives us insights into gravity, the atmosphere, the evolution of planets, and much more. We learn that the human race has a common origin that transcends gender, race, ethnicity, and religion. With these understandings, we can better plan a future that solves challenges like resource sustainability, overpopulation, global warming, and creating peaceful lifestyles for our rapidly changing diverse population.
