Daytona VIP Magazine

Page 1

Greetings, Daytona VIP Superfan!

The first motorcycles to compete at Daytona International Speedway took to the high banks in 1961. Since then, the tradition of the DAYTONA 200 has carried forward with the same spirit of speed, skill, and spectacle that has defined this iconic venue for generations.

This year’s cover once again features Mr. Josh Herrin, who made history by capturing his fourth consecutive DAYTONA 200 victory in the 84th running of the “Great American Motorcycle Race.” With this win, Josh now ties legends Scott Russell and Miguel Duhamel with five career DAYTONA 200 victories each, a truly unprecedented achievement for all three racers.

As if that weren’t enough, Josh also earned his fourth Rolex Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, and he took home a cool $50,000 for his outstanding performance aboard the Rahal Ducati Moto Panigale V2.

I consider myself extremely fortunate to have attended the opening rounds at Daytona. Each year brings new a excitement, new stories, and new friends. You - our VIP Superfan - are truly special. This year, we introduced the Privateer Rider Program to our VIP Superfans at Daytona, which was created to generate direct support for privateers competing in one of the MotoAmerica classes. Our first recipient was Twins Cup rider Eli Block from Middlefield, Connecticut. The Superfans rallied in a big way, contributing a remarkable $2,525 to a very surprised - and very grateful - Eli. You can learn more about Eli on page 14.

Other excitement came from the new J&P Cycles/Motul/Vance & Hines Factory Indian program, which delivered impressive wins by Hayden Gillim and Troy Herfoss in the Mission King Of The Baggers Championship. The dogfight between Factory Indian and Factory Harley-Davidson is officially underway, and it’s only going to get more intense as we head to our next stop on the tour, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on April 17 through 19.

For now, thank you for joining us. We hope you enjoy this commemorative Daytona VIP Superfan magazine, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Best Regards,

Ron “Slicer” Heben

Guest Speakers: Beau Beaton, Jon Cornwell, Colin Fraser, PJ Jacobsen, Josh Hayes, Jeff Sidlovsky, Eli Block, Michael Martin, and Jason Kingham.

Postcards From Daytona...

Josh Herrin got Troy Lee himself to paint Scott Russell’s

iconic “Screamin’ Chief” design on his KYT helmet, and it proved to be a prophetic move as Herrin overcame a lot of adversity to win his fourth-consecutive Daytona 200 and move into a tie with “Mr. Daytona” Russell and “The Other Mr. Daytona” Miguel Duhamel as the only three five-time winners of the“Great American Motorcycle Race.”

We had a really great time at round one of the 2026 MotoAmerica Championship.

And, if you were there, too, or if you watched our coverage on MotoAmerica Live+ and/or Samsung TV Plus, we hope you had a great time, as well.

Here are some postcards we brought back from Daytona Interntional Speedway and the 84th running of the DAYTONA 200. All images were created by the inimitable Brian J. Nelson, so check them out:

If you didn’t know the

engine displacement of the Triumph motorcycle that Isle of Man legend Peter Hickman raced in this year’s Daytona 200, the “765” number plates on his bike gave you a solid clue.
At 49 years old and against a screaming horde of knee-biting youngsters, OG 2018 Twins Cup Champion Chris Parrish put his Ghetto Customs Aprilia on the pole at Daytona.
A special race like the DAYTONA 200 requires special equipment like these quick-fill gas cans that, for the first time in history, were needed thrice in this year’s three-pit-stop race.
Nice rack!
Mission King Of The Baggers Challenge winner Hayden Gillim speaks softly and carries a big check.
Legendary race starter Bobby Lemming (left) poses with legendary announcer Pat Gonsalves (center) and legendary artist Lee Bivens (right) who created a commemorative painting right on pit lane of the late, legendary announcer Richard Chambers.
Mas tequila for DAYTONA 200 winner Herrin, and make it Desnuda Organic Tequila while you’re at it.
Darryn Binder never binned it in his very first DAYTONA 200, finishing just off the podium in fourth, and the Saffer and his crew also won the DAYTONA 200 Pit Stop Challenge.
Jersey Boy Gus Rodio also had a Daytona 200 to remember. He finished 10th in the DAYTONA 200 on his Ducati Panigale v2 and improved to fifth in each of the two Mission Super Hooligan races at Daytona aboard his Ducati Streetfighter V2.

Privateer Rider Program - Daytona Launch

In 2026 MotoAmerica decided to recognize one privateer at each of our Championship rounds. The “Privateer Rider Program” was introduced at Daytona with the intention of generating funding for a privateer competing on one of the MotoAmerica classes. At each round, a random class and random qualifying position will be chosen by MotoAmerica.

MotoAmerica’s VIP Superfans are truly superfans. Two unique and only available to our VIP Superfans are special VIP hats. Those can be purchased for a minimum donation of $50.00

All proceeds go to the selected racer, and that racer is invited to come to the VIP Suite for a short interview about being a racer in one of the toughest forms of competition.

Well, the response was phenomenal, to our surprise, we actually sold out of the hats we had on hand and the VIP Superfans presented a check (and the cash) to Eli Block for an amazing $2525.00!

Thank you to our Daytona Superfans VIP, for welcoming this program and to Eli, best of luck with your racing endeavors.

We are excited to see how the other rounds shape up as additional potential supporters come on board. We will make sure we have enough VIP Rider Support Program hats at Rd Atlanta!
