TGO Golf Course Renovation - 2024
Eight months and counting until the renovation of our golf course begins. It's actually already underway as our Golf Pro, Chuck Kandt, and Greens Supervisor, Shane Willey, along with Chairman, Cliff Creech, and CSA Manager, Billy Specht, are currently engaging in meetings with the architect, contractors and material suppliers. Orders are being placed, construction phases are being scheduled and, if all goes well, we'll have another award-winning course ready to play before year's end, 2024. Tomoka State Park
Just north of TGO, about an hour's drive, lies a hidden gem called Tomoka State Park. If you enjoy the outdoors, you'll want to make time to visit this park. With a rich history dating back to the early 1700s, it offers a wide range of recreational opportunities. Hiking, biking, and canoeing are among the top outdoor activities you may enjoy here. If you're a birdwatcher, you'll be thrilled to discover over 160 bird species have been spotted in the park. There is the Tomoka Outpost where you can buy souvenirs, snacks and a cold drink. When it's time to relax, work your way over to the RiverGrill for an adult beverage and a delicious meal. More on page 30....
Summertime in TGO
While most of you are out enjoying the weather in a different state, a lot of us stay here at TGO and soak up the summer rays. But there is a lot more here than a heat index of 109; summer is when mother nature is still pretty busy. The fledglings are getting ready to leave their nests, there are turtles everywhere, the wild flowers are sprouting out on the trails. There are less people in the park and there are a lot more deer. Our very own Earth Mother, Betty Salter, checks in with her list of the favorite things she loves about summertime in TGO. See what you are missing starting on page 26...
