St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park
Whether it's gazing into the eyes of a massive alligator, marveling at exotic birds, or immersing oneself in the lush surroundings, the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park promises an enriching and unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. Established in 1893, this historic park has become a beloved institution, featuring exhibits, educational programs, and interactive experiences centered around reptiles, birds, mammals, and other wildlife. White Sands Buddhist Center
Located just up the road in Mims, the White Sands Buddhist Center is a magnificent sight you almost have to see to believe. Except for the trickling of a nearby fountain, chirping birds and a soft breeze rustling through the trees, this 30 acre site is almost silent. A series of statues rise nearly three stories with intricate displays of flowering plants and paved stairways leading to their bases. Visitors will learn Buddhist teachings, can engage in meditation, and immerse themselves in the practice of mindfulness. The center is open daily from dawn until dusk and all are welcome. Awww... The Lovely No-See-Um
There are a lot of bugs and critters here in TGO. Heck, some of them can even kill you. However, none are as pestering as the micro-size ankle biter known as the No-see-um. Here's your chance to learn all about these blood-sucking ninjas. They're famous for biting your ankles, removing some of your blood, and then laying up to 400 eggs, all of which probably have some of your DNA in them! Oh, and these bites itch real bad and if you scratch them, they get worse. But we are here for you, providing all the info you need to know about the dreaded No-see-um. Start scratching on page 30...
