Meet Ron Peoples
As we have always said, TGO is blessed with a great group of volunteers. In this issue, we take a closer look at Ron Peoples and his contributions to our park. Ron and his wife, Dori, who is also a volunteer, have lived in TGO for seven years. If you know Ron, then you know he is not the type of guy to just waste time - he needs to be busy, and he has found lots of projects here to help him do just that. He volunteers at the Nature Center, works with the Firewise Committee, and, most recently, has taken on the responsibility of overseeing the bi-annual fish stocking of our 32 lakes. Ron is always the first guy to step up and help out. We're lucky he is part of TGO. More on page 26...
On The Cover Of The Hap-pen-iiiiingggs
Ron Peoples - One of the really good guys!
This one is way overdue! If you made one of the Variety Show performances this spring at the Manor, then you know that the On The Cover Of The Happenings song was debuted. It was a parody of the famous Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show's On the Cover Of The Rolling Stone song, that was a huge hit back in 1972. It was 50 years ago on March 29, 1973 that Dr. Hook actually made that cover, so we thought we should honor our four (five with a surprise appearance) local performers with the same honor - appearing on the cover of The Happenings. It was a TGO crowd favorite and the words to their version can Dave Poplawski, Jeff Alpert, Warren Fore and Jack Hennen are now be found on page 35. in The Happenings Hall of Fame with their performance of "On The Cover Of The Happenings." Oh yeah - plus Sammy!
